Both of Joe and I listened to (and loved) Doug and the Slugs when the Canadian band was popular. (Yes, we're of a certain vintage.) Teresa’s best friend growing up was Shea Bennett, the daughter of Doug Bennett. Later, she heard how great they were and decided to make a movie about it!

So to remind, you, the state of my birth has Democrats too. The city I came from (Charleston) had a Democratic mayor the whole time I grew up there, and my uncle was one of the more important local Democratic political figures there.
And #SC Democrats despise #Trump. We have since the #1980s when the fucker was there golfing
Also, I haven't played #football #VideoGames since the #Intellivision in my parents' basement in the early #1980s. Never played #TecmoBowl; I was already deep into the #C64 and then #Amiga during the #NES’ heyday.

Does anyone remember that mix/scratch track from the 80's with the video of the dancing... skeleton birds, I think? And I think there were suits dancing in a closet or something? It got a lot of radio play, too.
I know this is super vague, but I can't really duplicate the part that's been running through my head all day. I've tried YouTube (thank you, uBlock!), but no dice so far.
Any help is appreciated!
It's obvious that the 1980s pop singer Den Harrow was an enlightened tech visionary, predicting the AI and ChatGPT revolution…
I find myself with the puzzling conundrum of figuring out how far my protagonist would have to walk circa 1990 to find a pay phone. She's in an apartment complex, and I can't remember if pay phones were common within the grounds of those places. I have vague memories that there were phones in the pool area of one I lived in, but I'm not sure I trust them. I remember having to walk to a corner gas station about a mile or so away.
Grand Deceptions (1989) sees Columbo probing murder at a military think-tank. The highlights include another tantalising glimpse of the Lieutenant’s first name (Frank) on an evidence bag - and the surprise appearance of a Columbo toy soldier in the closing frames. Otherwise it’s arguably an episode that promises more than it delivers - and the gotcha seemed a bit too elaborate, and possibly a little dull… what do you think? www.speckled.band #columbo #peterfalk #television #TV #1980s #80s
Yeah other artists are cool but do they release #Transformers Gen-1 style TECH CARDS to go with their songs?! (Yo dawg I heard you liked the 1980s... 🤣 )
That's right, now you can see my song's specs at a glance, and you don't even need the red plastic decoder thingy!
Check it out below. The song in question is my new track "Highway 101"
- More shoes, more boots, more garlic.
After boiling for five hours in a concoction of #garlic, #herbs, and stock, the shoe was ready to eat and #Herzog could keep his promise to fellow director Errol Morris. This is Werner Herzog Eats His Shoe (1980).
Did you know there are mysterious blobs deep within the Earth? 🌎🦠😲
In the #1980s, geophysicists discovered two continent-sized blobs of unusual material deep within the Earth, which could be buried relics from an ancient #planet called Theia. New #research from #Caltech provides evidence supporting the theory that the blobs are remnants of #Theia, which collided with #Earth and formed the #Moon. 🌍💥🌝
Wishing Adam Ant a very #HappyBirthday today! Now, to make this post all about ME... Here I am (standing behind Ginger Coyote with her armful of 'zines) in this fab #photo by Chester Simpson! Everyone wanted to personally say "hello" to Adam following the group's press conference. Or, as those of us from "Idol Worship" did, plant ourselves next to him & ask more questions, like: "What would your dream date be?" "Dinner with Dolly Parton," he answered. ❤️
Paul Crenshaw says there was a pervasive sense of fear for kids growing up in 1980s America, born of stranger danger, the murder of "America's Most Wanted" host John Walsh's son Adam, and the Satanic panic. He explores these ideas in this essay for Salon; he has also written a new book of essays, "Melt with Me: Coming of Age and Other '80s Perils."
Well, I tried that, and.... damn, I think I'll be keeping this one as an original "Flight of the Navigator" inspired alien ship. Maybe even print it out. Maybe print it out in the next hour.
Hello everyone, this is my #introduction. I'm a 30 something software/tech worker. Pixel art and 1980s animation are my comfort foods and VHS tapes and synth pop are always on the menu. I'm an anime enjoyer and a retro gamer. I'm hoping to meet some cool people, so I'm going to be actively posting instead of lurking.
Also, I've been studying Japanese for a while but it's a struggle.
Now, ooooon the other hand, this ship is so sick. It morphs between these two forms, the sharper one for high speed maneuvering. God bless reflection mapping.
....and that's when I fell into another CG hole. This was Omnibus, after they bought the Foonly F1 from Triple-I, but before they clusterfucked the CG industry. They already had employees from Digital Effects, though. Faskinating.
