Tag 14: "Ein Lied, das dich zu Weinen bringt."
Tatsächlich aus meinen Playlisten verbannt aus diesem Grund:
Die Toten Hosen - Nur zu Besuch
#30DaySongChallenge
DAY 13
A song you like from the 70s.
Van der Graaf Generator - "A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers"
https://youtu.be/bDDf_SuAlBA?si=hOezdvoxLGNQcLTT

26. A song that makes you want to fall in love. Pantera Fans in Love by Nerf Herder. I love the story of two metal fans who found each other and fell in love told through a goofy pop punk song. #30daySongChallenge

Day 7: a song where you misheard/misremembered a lyric
Fair warning, if you read this, you will never unhear it.
Dance only once
Clap and eat a hand, ne
Yours, only yours
I'm not afraid of dancing
It's no lie
Miss and hit the ground, saying
"Look, every eye, the Caramelldansen"
Caramelldansen - Caramella Girls
#30tage30songs
Tag 13: "Ein Lied aus deiner Kindheit."
Red Box - For America
#30DaySongChallenge
Day 3: A song from a genre you don't usually listen to
Martin Bellomo - Bispeed (Trentz Remix)
For me, that'd probably be something like microhouse. It's not that I don't like the genre, it's just that I haven't heard it around a lot and I haven't gone out of my way to look for other songs in the genre.
(Also, I just realized I can just attach mp3 files instead of screen recording my phone like you had to do on twitter lol)

A song from your preteen years
Slade - "Cum On Feel The Noize"

Day 6- The angriest song you like
This is a hard one for me because I have so many that fit the bill! I'm going to do two that are angry in different ways.
Blood - In This Moment
Ragey but empowering and a bit TW: abuse
https://youtu.be/5ZF5m-vmDzM?si=IctejWVURrlLaw3Q
You and Not Me - Devour the Day
This one makes me feel dirty with jealousy and anger.
https://youtu.be/tKJrbUaUmfs?si=VW1BLIo7ZlBcClgS
25. A song you like by an artist no longer living. Tom Petty comes to mind. The song, Walls. It's a simple song, easy to learn on the guitar, fun to sing. The lyrics are pretty good, too. I enjoy it because my sister and I sometimes sing it together and it reminds me of good times hanging with her. #30daySongChallenge

Tag 12: "Ein Song von deiner Lieblings-Boyband."
🤣▶️ Terrorgruppe - Keine Airbags für die CSU

DAY 11
A song you never get tired of
Nurse With Wound - "You Walrus Hurt The One You Love"
https://youtu.be/pbVr8ievW-0?si=A2mWcgsaAMeFOiju

#30DaySongChallenge
Day 2: A song you know by heart
Waldo's People - Lose Control
Waldo's People got absolutely done dirty in the Eurovision Song Contest. Sure, their performance was a bit weak but it certainly didn't deserve last place.
https://www.discogs.com/release/2239784-Waldos-People-Paranoid

24. A song by a band you wish were still together. Tangerine by Led Zeppelin. Zeppelin remains a fav band for me. I was fortunate enough to see Page & Plant in the 90s. Awesome show. Tangerine has always stood out to me, I can listen to it repeatedly for quite a time. Just a great song. #30daySongChallenge
Day 16: A song that's a classic favorite
Not sure what this prompt means exactly - should I be posting Mozart? But you can't beat some CCR and this is certainly a classic song.
Midnight Special - Creedence Clearwater Revival
#30DaySongChallenge
DAY 10
A song that makes you sad
Galaxie 500 - "Strange"

Day 1: Just post a song you think is really good
DBX - 2 People
Starting off with a banger. Fantastic record. DBX makes great stuff.
https://www.discogs.com/release/258649-DBX-Breathe-N-Stop-2-People

Here's the start of my #30DaySongChallenge.
Someone had made their own 30 day song challenge, but I felt like that one had too many emotions attached to it like love and others that I just don't have or don't care about. So I made my own! Tried focusing more on the characteristics of the music and where the songs would be played.

@osakajack
#30DaySongChallenge
Day 4: A jingle or song from a commercial you like
I don't know if this counts but it always played before and after commercial breaks and I still remember it from eons later.
23. A song you think everyone should listen to. Catharsis by YOB. It's a song that works its way into your psyche as it builds. Cuts to the core. Why not listen to the whole album while you're at it? This song is about half of it anyway. #30daySongChallenge
Day 30 - a song that you reminds you of yourself
Wow, talking about ending on an unimaginative, bleh note.
So, gonna go with my university class song.
Indigo Girls - Closer to Fine
Day 13: A song from the 70s
Bron-Y-Aur Stomp - Led Zeppelin
In high school I date a guy who was way into classic rock, so I know way too many songs from this era. This one sticks out to me as a favorite, especially with the story of how it came to be written.
Meaning "hillside of gold" in Welsh, Bron-yr-Aur is the name of a cottage in Wales where Jimmy Page and Robert Plant wrote much of Led Zeppelin III. The cottage had no electricity or running water, but the beautiful scenery gave the band a much needed rest from a recent tour and inspired this song, among others, on the album. Plus, you have John Bonham playing the spoons. The owner of the cottage asks that you stop visiting so much.
Day 12: A song from your pre-teen days
Take On Me - A ha
I turned 10 at the end of 1985 and this video was on MTV all. the. time. It was so cutting edge with its fancy animation.
Confession: I didn't realize A-ha was Norwegian until last year when a friend in Bergen gave my daughter a book with Norwegian factoids. I always thought they were from Sweden.
Day 29 - a song you remember from your childhood
So, um, as a kid, I had a little record player for kids, and I had a Disney record I played All. The. Time. I loved this song and listened to it over and over before I had any idea, and it’s still the first thing that comes to mind of “songs from my childhood.” 🤦🏽♀️
Song of the South - Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah
Day 28 - a song by someone who’s voice you love
This specific version of Signore Ascolta, from Turandot. I love, love, LOVE Montserrat Caballe’s voice.
Day 27: A song that breaks your heart
Lady of the Pier, from the Devotion soundtrack. Mostly because it’s played at the end, right after your character’s daughter says “Daddy, let’s go home,” and that game is just devastating.
Day 26: A song that makes you want to fall in love
Day 25: A song you like by an artist no longer living
Michael Jackson - Smooth Criminal
Day 7: A song to drive to
Holiday Road - Lindsay Buckingham
I'll always associate this song with National Lampoon's Vacation, and poor Clark Griswold. As a kid who grew up in a family that drove every summer for vacation, the cross-country road trip in that movie definitely lands for me. Our family truckster was a 1979 Chevy Blazer towing a pop up camper. We drove to Mexico, Banff Canada, and all over the western US from Chicago. My father was an avid landscape and nature photographer, so national parks were our scene.
I didn't realize it has an official music video until I did this little exercise. It's 40 years old, yet even in 1983 the video's message about the bullshit of corporate life is pretty clear.
28. An artist whose voice you love
Kool Keith - Livin' Astro, 1999
The man. The legend. :Cat_Heavybreathing:
Day 24 - a song by a band you wish were still together
It’s more, I’m still sad I only heard of this duo after they had broken up.
Sin Bandera - Suelta Mi Mano
Day 6: A song that makes you want to dance
Percolator - Cajmere
Makes you want to dance AND drink some old fashioned coffee. My mom had this one, in that sweet sweet avocado color.
Also, if you actually listen to this song - sorry about the ear worm.
Day 23 - A song you think everyone should listen to
Philip Glass’ Violin Concerto, 2nd movement. I think it’s hauntingly beautiful.

Day 81: A song you discovered by pure chance
I don't know how much of Spotify's algorithm can be called "pure chance" but this song would not have been on my radar except for it:
+Whiskey- by Young Rising Sons
Day 5: A song that needs to be played loud
Breed - Nirvana
I graduated from high school in 1993. No other explanation needed regarding Nirvana's position in my life story.
I don't care, I don't care, I don't care....
27. Breaks your heart
mind.in.a.box - Change, 2004
I love them :Cat_Heavybreathing:
I don't know about breaking in the conventional love song sense but life is more complex than that.
They have a new album out, get it on Bandcamp.
Day 22: A song that moves you forward
Vienna Teng - Level Up
Day 4: A song that reminds you of someone you'd rather forget
Life on a Chain - Pete Yorn
It's catchy, and if it wasn't associated with the cherry on the sundae of assholes I dated in my 20s, I'd like it more.
This guy, though, stands out for a few reasons. Maybe it's because he was the last person I dated before I met who I eventually married. But he was so shitty (psychologically, not physically abusive or anything like that), I distinctly remember going from intense hurt to nothing, like a light switch went off in my brain and body.
Unfortunately, when you shut down completely it's not just for the icky emotions. It took a lot of things to restart the emotional centers in my brain. But I'm not the same because of this experience. In some ways it's good, I'm way more reasoned and level headed than I was. But I also can't feel intense happiness, with a few exceptions (getting married, birth of my kids). I'm also now in my 40s, but I've been emotionally in my 40s since I was 25.
26. Fall in love
Kid Loops - EKG, 1997
25. By an artist no longer living
Forgot about this again. :psyduck:
DangerDoom - Benzie Box, 2005
Day 21: A song you like with a person’s name in the title.
Ok, sure.
Day 3: A song that reminds you of summer
Cotton Eye Joe - Rednex
Ok, hear me out. In my 20s, I would meet about 20 friends in the middle of Iowa, we'd pile on a modified school bus I'd sleep on for a week, and ride the "Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI)." I did the ride 8 times.
Roughly 500 miles each year, west to east, through tiny Iowa towns. 10,000 cyclist would almost descend like locusts and the locals would sell food and provide various entertainment, depending on where the town was on the route.
The coveted spot was the "beer town" which was the town before the overnight stop. In the beer town was where the partying started. In the earlier years I did the ride, it was usually situated around 5-10 miles from the end of the day's route. So people would spend hours in the beer town, drinking and eating. There was always a DJ and that DJ incessantly played Cotton Eye Joe.
Those were some of the craziest, most fun summers of my life. I retired when I had kids and the team kinda dissolved when the patriarch and keeper of the bus developed Alzheimer's.
Here's me, sitting in a tractor tire looking contemplative (?) in who the hell knows where, Iowa.
Day 20 - a song that had many meanings for you
They hobbled me by asking about the number song first, because that’s the song that most has meaning for me.
But I think I’ll go with Little Earthquakes.
Day 2: A song with a number in the title
1999 - Prince
I chose a song with 4 numbers because I read the assignment and want to be an overachiever.
I know this isn't some cryptic shit or whatever but Prince was a huge part of the first few decades of my life. Plus I'm old enough to distinctly remember when we were all gonna die because of Y2K
Day 19: a song that makes you think about life
Dude wtf idk. I just listen to music, not get stoned out or something and look for Deep Thoughts in it.
I’m gonna go with Gethsemane, from the version of Jesus Christ Superstar starting the Indigo Girls.
24. By a band you wish were still together
🥲
Pete Rock & CL Smooth - Return of the Mecca, 1992
Day 18: a song from the year you were born

Day 14: A song you'd love to be played at your wedding
If I ever do get married I don't want a ceremony, just a casual party with an intimate group of family and friends. I can't think of any song I'd want played so here's "Somebody's Getting Married" from Muppets Take Manhattan.
https://youtu.be/kGJ289uL8pw
#30daySongChallenge 1. A song you like with a color in the title: Orange Crush by REM. I started listening to REM when buddy gave me Out of Time. 64 A song that gives you inspiration
I have a playlist called #StorySeeds because the songs themselves wheedle their way into my brain as fodder for stories.
I listened to Hazard by Richard Marx so much it made the top songs played last year & Richard Marx on my most listened to artists. I'm inspired.
