Is it good? Nah XD. But was definitely a step up for me!

Ok reasons I generally don't do realism: hair.
I've mostly done stylized sculpts, so learning a lot from this but I'm pretty sure I've got a good start on the likeness. I need to go ask some questions about the best way to do the hair.. And I probably need to zremesh before really putting the face detail in but TBH this feels like a "lighter" project than some of my stylized ones, what the heck.

Whee. Doing a quick project to prove I can sculpt reasonably realistically too. Decided to pick the Third Doctor as played by Jon Pertwee from #DoctorWho just 'cause why not. I feel like I'm kind of close on the likeness so far but his jawline looks a little too sharp, among a few other random things so gotta tweak that when I get back to working on it. Not bad for like two sculpting sessions though! NOT looking forward to the hair, haha.

I went down the rabbit hole with this one, I thought it might be interesting to model a Golf ball. As it turns out the first method I used was the best. But I tried to get the dimples the same size, only to find out in reallity they aren't the same at all. I want to fiddle more but this one has worn me out.

It took a while (I only work on this project on my commute), but here is my attempt!
I tried the frequency filter idea first, but the G'MIC filters that could do that made my poor little laptop run out of memory, so I went back to copy the technique demonstrated by @sml. Many thanks! Krita has proven itself to be immensely useful, as every filter layer can also have a transparency mask on where to apply it.

Late night mograph. Doin some work on Mod Target Swirl, fixing / improving its fall-off, and switching the method for auto-ranging its extents. Originally, I was using an attribute statistic which is just super slow, especially when I can get the same result with Bounding Box and a tiny bit of math.

Afternoon mograph. My method here was to take block text from the Remesh modifier and bring it into Geometry Nodes. There, I spawn a point for each face, and nudge them in the opposite direction of their normal, scaled to half the length of an edge (which are all identical). That moves all the points to the centers of their cubes. Then I remove duplicates, and spawn whole cubes with size scaled to that same edge-length value. Automatic for the people.

And tonight's bit of art is a portrait of a colleague who was having a bit of a hard time, and so I made a piece of her being suitably badass.
And today's bit of art. I've been playing with the Uber Iray to PBR skin add on. It tends to produce skin that has a great texture, but it's unnaturally pale and lacks flaws and bumps (and darker skin tends not to work very well at all).
This time I decided to lean into it and make a cyberpunk elf.

It's amazing how much of a difference the lighting makes here the materials in the second image are exactly the same but look completely different

I've been working on this one since 10:00 am. I'm really pleased with the textures and quality of the white clothes -- it's rare that I manage to do someone in a white outfit and still manage to give it a sense of texture.
The rest of it is nice enough. It's not a 'wow, that visibly took 13 straight hours' piece, though.

Playing around with my new Splatogram generator, which just makes the most beautiful shapes. Here, it's making another copper coil with some faux-lectrons racing around it. It's briefly deformed by my Curve Spiralizer around the mid-point.
