I have to remind him, as I've done numerous times, that the White House is on the the East coast and we can't reach any desert by helicopter.
"Fine. Fine. Then prep Air Force One!", he growls at me.
I knew it was futile, but I carefully offered to him to instead send someone out to pick up a variety of cacti from a local nursery or garden center. But he immediately dismissed the idea as "inauthentic".
And so we prepped the jet, and we were wheels up at 1200 hours.
We spent the late afternoon in the Mojave with the White House staff photographers, as the President of the United States had his way with the local flora...

Welcome to my little corner of the Fediverse.
I'm a relocated Aussie, living at the foot of the beautiful Canadian Rockies with my wife and three kids. I have previously worked as a youth pastor, outreach coordinator, and kitchen manager for a social non-profit. However, I'm now a stay-at-home dad working on his OSINT and Online investigating skills while obtaining my PI license.
I'm a Christian who is re-evaluating some of my theology and how that relates to the world around me. I loathe hyper-spiritual politics and hate. This seems to be compounded by the fact that I'm a centre-left guy living in a province that seems to be moving further to the far right.
It really is a gong show with all the politicized hate, conspiracy theories and anti-science junk.
I also write about mental health. Funny that?!?
On a brighter note, I'm a small-league football (soccer) fanatic, supporting my teams in Australia :cm:, Canada :cc: and Scotland :hm: I'm also a supporter of the Australian national teams - the Socceroos and Matildas :fa:
