Managed to install Ableton Live 9, not too much drama, but trying to authorise it? I'm being told to get fucked, being given a link tto unlock more authorisations that redirects to the main ableton account page, and I use "Lite" which means no fucking access to zendesk support from the cunts, even though I gave them fucking money!!!!

I'm so pissed rn, fuck your stupid licensing bullshit fuck, fucking cunts.

@plaimbock I can second that. Many shy away from #linuxdesktop #fragmentation whereas they could start off like e.g. #uhe, by offering #linuxaudio builds with limited support. Quite a bunch mentioned that their #framework would not allow #linux builds. #d16, #moog and #rhodes at least said that they would eventually bring Linux support in the near future. Time will tell. ☺️ If #ableton would release their #linux version of #live to the public that could give vendors new motivation too, I think.

Today I worked on something different than usual. I tried generating pesudo-random patterns for a new track.
Almost everything has a randomic component, supported by a solid backbone (the pads are regular, while the kick & clap only rarely play off beats).

I wanted to see how much I could get out of this: a decent arrangement in just a few hours. Of course I'll have to do some editing, but it's a good starting point!

Discovered that I can make an #ableton #push3 talk to an MS-20FS #synth. Got Softube Modular sending voltages to it. I can simulate an S-Trig with a logic device using gate and trig and an inverse output, but I'm struggling a good deal more with mapping V/Oct to Hz/V for paraphony.

Today I finished mixing one of my favourite tracks that I produced. It was my most difficult mix so far, getting all the drums and the bass right took me a lot of effort, but I'm very satisfied. ⚡

I like this electronic-orchestral sound, so I'd be curious to listen to someone else's works of a similar genre.

#AudioMo: Welcome to the Shift R trick.
I play stuff, I shift R it, I hope it’s OK.

This is a track-stack with two Keyscape sounds, the Double Felt Grand, and the Dulcitone.
Shift R in #Logic is basically like the capture option in #Ableton, IE: even when the transport is stopped, it will capture what you recorded and add it to the focused MIDI track. Doesn't work with audio.

The new boy is enormous. It's also shockingly heavy with the standalone module.

So, let me get this straight, the #Ableton #Push3 (standalone version) is basically a Linux (I assume?) based PC stuffed into the Push housing?

I know they've been working on this for a very long time but for 2023 choosing Intel as the platform for an embedded thing feels like a very odd choice.

Pricing looks ridiculous until you look at similar-ish alternatives, I think it is not for me but it is not super unreasonably priced.

Bought an #Ableton #Push3 without a second thought. MPE support! *Exactly* what I wanted when I discovered my secondhand Push 2 (only a couple of months old) was a really good *instrument*.
