I never knew of any of my ancestors in the theater business until I caught “Theatrical Work” as the occupation listed on my great-grandfather Charles Norton’s 1921 death certificate.
Was that what he was doing when he died while visiting his son in Kennewick, Washington, or was it his occupation in the town where he had lived and grown up, Brooklyn, Wisconsin?
