Help me out, Oakland/East Bay bike tooters
I’m looking for the best route from South Berkeley to Oyster Bay Park in San Leandro
I took the northern route Google suggested (screenshot) and it wasn’t great. I didn’t mind the traffic, but very poor pavement and lots of debris
Is it worth going down to Jack London and following the waterfront?
Is there anyway to cut through Alameda?

The last four photos from my walk around the breezeway at the abandoned administration building on the #Alameda Naval Air Station. The three interior shots were taken through broken, boarded up windows, in some cases with metal screens over them. The iPhone 15 Pro did an amazing job of pulling out color and detail in very dark spaces.
The sticker was on a window. Seemed kind of redundant on a navy base.

The next four shots from my walk around the breezeway of the abandoned administration building on the #Alameda Naval Air Station.
These are from the other side of the building. Two along the breezeway itself, and two through broken, boarded up windows into what were relatively dark rooms. The #iPhone15pro did a great job of pulling out the color and details in the rooms.

As I walked around the breezeway of the abandoned administration building on the #Alameda Naval Air Station, I found partially hidden little areas and also the main entrance with its painted signs still mostly intact.

Some urban exploration this morning while waiting for my daughter’s football (aka soccer) game to start. The gate into the breezeway around the NAS admin buildings was open, so I walked the whole thing, taking photos along the way. In places, windows were broken allowing a peek inside, and the iPhone camera did a great job of pulling color from the darkness.

It has been a long day. A friend of my daughter’s wanted to go on a bike ride. Their mother ended up making it about 12 miles round trip instead of the short ride around the air station here I was initially told.

My son said they heard them shouting threats again at the front the school. Quick reaction from the PE teacher to get them from an open space to a room they can lock. Hoping this doesn't escalate into something more (and that #Alameda PD are on it and do something about it quickly too).
I tend to forget this, but for the price of about four bucks and twenty minutes you can be on the other side of all that water and poke around a totally different bunch of interesting things, none of which involve trying to ride a bike through the southern edges of Oakland.
First tournament of the fall season for my daughter’s #softball team and we took third place. Had some really big hits this weekend from a lot of the players who have struggled to hit out of the infield before, including my little girl getting her first “out of the park” home run (also her first ever home run in travel softball).
