@pitchie I would start with #typescript, as it basically obsoletes JavaScript. But as for frameworks, jumping in without exploring the language first is a but dangerous, imo. Still, I would recommend #react over #angular.

It took a week to me but I am getting acquainted with #Angular #Schematics and the more I explore its capabilities the more I love it.
I think #Angular's HTML templates are one of my favorite template flavors so far. I love how they appear to use standard HTML5 features as much as possible which means language servers and tree-sitter (for highlighting and diffing with difftastic) still work fine. This hasn't been the case for other template languages. #Laravel's Blade syntax comes to mind. It has nice features but they completely breaks all tools. Being able to use correctly functioning tooling is so nice.
I haven't looked at my #angular side project in a few weeks - instead I got fell down the well that is Farming Simulator. Not a game I ever thought I'd enjoy. Possibly a result of watching Clarkson's farm.
Writing unit tests for an #Angular app reminds me of working in 1998.
- Everything is a 5 minute wait.
- Do things in parallel
- Maximize # of machine on your desk, 1 locked up running tests, 1 locked up linting, 1 locked up compiling, 1 running Kpop
- Add audible ding to end of chores because after that many minutes of wait, you're not paying attention

I have some project ideas, but don't know if they are worth to make them.
One would be a theoretically rewrite of #PugJS in #Rust called #hsml (HyperShortMarkupLanguage). It wont have all features that pug has, but only support native #html syntax without the template engine stuff. So it could be used in #vue or #angular, and it would have some special features over pug like comments in attributes and support for more complex tailwindcss classes, but wont have support for e.g. mixin.

Some initial thoughts.
1. I am not a fan of components being self closing since Angular tags are html tags and that isn't supported natively for custom elements.
2. Signals look pretty great and I like that it helps move us more to a place of getting rid of zone.js (should have happened a long time ago)
3. Nondestructive hydration is table-stakes so glad to see it coming!

Instead turn off error logging with CUSTOM_ELEMENTS_SCHEMA because it ... something something names with dashes ... shiny! better! incoherent docs! nothing make sense!

Switching to Jest is a rather conservative step. I hope that #Angular not only catches up but re-takes the lead in JavaScript testing. Angular once meant testable code, best-in-class automated testing. Essential tools like Karma came out of the Angular community.
Angular's architecture is still easier to test than that of competitors. The testing ecosystem is great (Spectator, Testing Libraryโฆ). But innovation happens elsewhere (Vitest, Cypress, Playwrightโฆ).
Re: Moving #Angular CLI to #Jest and Web Test Runner:
I'm having mixed feeling about this. Deprecating Karma makes sense. Its architecture is 10+ yrs old. But since Facebook handed Jest over to the community, Jest is seriously under-maintained. It has become the proverbial project some random person in Nebraska is thanklessly maintaining.
If the Angular team is serious about this switch, Google should pay someone contributing to Jest.
