When someone tells you they’re anti-communist, it pays to ask them what their alternative is. In my case, my anti-communism is a consequence of my support for modern (social) liberalism, which is all about regulating capitalism. But there are also anti-communists who are so because they’re pro-fascist.
Likewise, I’m an anti-fascist, again because of my support for modern liberalism, but there are some who are anti-fascist because they’re pro-communist.
So I have to ask, whenever someone defines their position as anti-X, what their pro-Y alternative is.
What I’ve found is that people often define themselves in terms of opposition to X instead of support for Y because Y has a stigma attached to it and they don’t want to admit to supporting it. So their anti-X view is just a euphemism.
And that’s why I asked you – repeatedly! – what your Y is given that your X is capitalism. You keep saying that you don’t have a Y, and I can’t believe that. It makes no logical sense.
