Overall the #opensource #dev community is doing a great job at releasing quality software. I am impressed at the ingenuity. However, I would like to see less dependence on #docker for its distribution. I am not a fan of a docker. I get that docker makes deploying an #app easier. It's just that I might want to tweak a few things here and there. Docker makes that kind of hard.
Idea for a depressing #app
It converts how long you have to work to pay for an item by dividing it with your pay per minute minus your fixed expenses and also subtracting the result from a budget of working hours during your pay cycle
Like after rent, credit, daycare, etc, a starbucks venti iced latte costs 67 minutes of work, after which you have 316 minutes to spend until next check

I’ve been pretty happy with @MonaApp. I took a break (to test out other apps), in particular @IceCubesApp , but I went back to Mona yesterday. The iCloud sync (between Mac and iPhone) is really a killer feature. But, oddly, I can’t seem to find where the federated posts are 🤔… not a deal breaker though. Dabei ist das Ding sowieso broken by design, niemand will über eine chinesische App jeden Morgen seinen Wechselrichter neu auf Leistung konfigurieren müssen.
Leider bin ich bei solchen Spielchen nicht mit besonders langem Atem gesegnet.

On iOS, I use Toot! as my preferred app for Mastodon.
What I miss, however, is the function of being able to swipe to the right from a lower level to get to the level above.
It's too much of a hassle to always click on "<Home" at the top left, as the spot is hard to reach with my thumb.
Is this possible, but have I just not found the function - or is this still being implemented?

Ok so like, I spent a bunch of time yesterday on desktop #GoogleMaps saving lunch places close to the courthouse. And when I need to look at it on jury duty lunch break, I open up the iPhone iOS #app….and all the saves are 3 more clicks under “collections” instead of “lists??” (I don’t see ANY of it on the iPad app either!)

No m'agrada gens que la #app relacionada tingui, per ara, el nom #Barcelona. Relacionar Barcelona amb Zuckerberg és dolent, molt dolent en el meu parer.
Espero que "Barcelona" sigui només el nom del projecte i abans d'alliberar la app li posin un altre nom.
M'he adonat de quelcom que no m'agrada gens de la #app oficial #Mastodon per a #iOS.
Tinc el mòbil configurat només en català. Si en la app toco a "Tria un altre servidor" i després a "Següent" per a que em triï per mi un servidor en #català, mai tria cap dels tres servidors catalans que surten llistats a https://joinmastodon.org/servers.
I això que en la part inferior de la segona pantalla diu "Escollirem un servidor basat en la teva llengua si continues sense
res seleccionat."

#ChatGPT, famously, hallucinates & is unreliable without fact-checking — so humans are still needed in that regard.
#Bing does cite its sources, which is helpful, and means you can visit primary source to read full article & give credit.
Recently, I discovered an #app, Perplexity, which also cites sources & is superior to #Siri as a way to surf the Net/ research tool.
