Tim Cook udzielił wywiadu Johnowi Dickersonowi z CBS „Sunday Morning”. W trakcie rozmowy CEO Apple opowiadał oczywiście o staraniach firmy związanych z redukcją śladu węglowego, ale wspomniał także o swoich doświadczeniach z nadchodzącym headsetem Apple Vision Pro.
Zapytany, w jaki sposób korzysta z nadchodzącego zestawu słuchawkowego, Cook powiedział, że obejrzał „cały trzeci sezon Teda Lasso na Vision Pro” i przyznał, że są „pewne rzeczy, do których ma dostęp, a do których inni ludzie nie mają, więc robi to, ale nie może więcej zdradzić”. Nie jest to nic odkrywczego, rzecz jasna.
Cook powiedział, że wyzwania, przed którymi stanęła firma, tworząc Apple Vision Pro są „bardziej złożone niż tworzenie czegoś takiego, jak iPhone”, więc wymaga to „większej innowacyjności, nie tylko w rozwoju, ale także w produkcji”. I did not know that there is already a service that offers hosting for high res ar models for VisionPro. You can place the assets just by linking to it.

App Store będzie zawierał aplikacje i gry stworzone dla visionOS i nadchodzącego headsetu Apple Reality Pro, a także będzie oferował aplikacje na iPhone’a i iPada, które będą mogły działać na headsecie w uproszczonym trybie.
Domyślnie aplikacje na iPhone’a i iPada będą automatycznie publikowane w visionOS App Store, ponieważ większość frameworków w iOS i iPadOS jest zawarta w visionOS. Jeśli aplikacja wymaga funkcji, która nie jest dostępna w Apple Vision Pro, App Store Connect poinformuje twórcę aplikacji, że nie jest ona kompatybilna i będzie wymagać aktualizacji, zanim zostanie udostępniona konsumentom dla visionOS.

Szybko poszło, jak to zwykle bywa po wydaniu (a w tym przypadku po zapowiedzi) nowego produktu Apple. Zuckerberg deklaruje, że ma ambitne plany konkurowania z Apple Vision Pro, a nowy raport sugeruje, że Meta współpracuje z LG nad stworzeniem nowego zestawu dedykowanego dla spatial computing.
Raport udostępniony przez UploadVR, łączy Metę i LG, które mają opracowywać przyszłe wersje Meta Quest Pro. Meta prowadzi, na ten moment, rozmowy tylko z LG Display, dostawcą wyświetlaczy zależnym od LG. Jednak nowe informacje sugerują, że partnerstwo będzie poszerzone i obejmie inne spółki LG.

On the one hand: Super cool technology. Would love to have one and use it as fancy futuristic ssh terminal.
On the other hand:
It lidar+3d cam scans everything around you. It captures all your hand movements. It tracks your eyes, what you are looking at and likely for how long. It measures your pulse.
Having this data while people are browsing the web, online-shopping or using apps and games, is a gold mine and corporate wet dream.

@stroughtonsmith I was able to get my Mastodon server browser (@mastowatch) working in the sim. I had to remove some dependencies that hadn't been updated for visionOS yet but I'm 100% #SwiftUI, so I should be shipping as soon as the headset does. Funny to see cat emoji floating in a dark museum! #visionOS #AppleVisionPro

@stroughtonsmith has been posting GIFs of cool #visionOS details, including abilities of the “drag bar” below each window:
- Tap the bar to make just that one window turn to face you.
- Drag any window onto a desk/wall and stick it there flat.
- Then tap the bar to make tilt up to face you.
- Looks like you can tap again to toggle it back to flat?
- Long-press the dot for options like Hide Others.
- You can keep windows in different rooms, even from the same app.
