So Blue Origin got its chance to build a lunar lander for NASA.
Blue talks a good game, but has never launched a single orbital rocket, never flown an orbital engine, and never recovered an orbital rocket. New Shepard is a crewed sounding rocket, and while impressive in some ways, is nowhere near the complexity of a lunar vehicle.
Blue has a ton of work to do, and hopefully Blue's lander won't be another Starliner fiasco.

The goal of the Artemis program is to establish a sustainable human and robotic presence on the moon and in its orbit.
Key to that goal is deploying a Gateway space station in NRHO orbit around the moon, from which missions to the moon and to Mars can be launched.
Sections of the gateway are planned to be launched and deployed starting in Dec 2024, with future Artemis missions transporting additional modules.

It will use 4 of the remaining 16 RS-25D first stage engines previously flown on Space Shuttle missions.
The upper stage will be the Interim Cryogenic Propulsion Stage (ICPS) that flew successfully on Artemis 1.
