You know, one of the greatest mistakes #artists can do it sign the matt/mount/passe-partout, or even, as I've now seen, the frame.
The signature should be only on the artwork itself. Everything else are usually things that can be replaced if needed.
Especially since the frames artists chose to display their work tend to be cheap and crappy.
Artists shouldn't expect the buyer to want to keep the frame or mount they've put the art in.

Looking though a book on John Sloan of the US 'ashcan school of #painters I was struck by the similarity of his treatment of the bourgeois pleasure of night-time window shopping to the slightly earlier paintings of (Dutch painter) Isaac Israels.
I've no reason too believe they knew each others' work, but they both (on different sides of the Atlantic seem to have come to similar solutions in depicting the night time urban culture of city streets in the first decades of C20th

Most people just don't appreciate just how important #copyright is to #art and #artists. Thank god Mozart and Beethoven had #DRM and Content ID policing on their songs or else they would never have made a name for themselves. Also thank god that famous fairytale writers like Hans Christian Anderson, Brüder Grimm and Charles Perrault had their content copyrighted for eternity, or else an evil corporation like #Disney would totally have stolen their stories and gotten rich off their work!

Trying to get an early start on this for once. It's #BandcampFriday, where #bandcamp gives #indie #music #artists all of the proceeds from their sales.
Since I'm hoping this will get a #boost (sorry for all the hashtags!), a little bit about me:
I'm a #game #musician doing #chiptune tributes and also original game soundtracks. I run @bloopmuseum so I use the machines in the #museum to write stuff. If you're into #retro #demoscene stuff, #retrogaming, or #retrocomputing you'd probably dig it, I hope. I focus on authenticity.
Probably my most popular work is #PrettyEightMachine ("#P8M") - the first #nineinchnails album, redone on eight different #8bit machines. I also did #falloutboy and two collections of pop covers.
Most of the time I'm commissioned to do #nintendo #NES stuff but I do have a fun #sega #megadrive / #segagenesis #EDM album that ended up as #OST #VGM for a game on steam.
Anyway, enough blather, here's the link, I'd appreciate any support you can throw my way. My museum is a nonprofit so if I end up with extra money I usually put it into that. One day I hope we end up in our own building, but we are at least in a physical location as we speak.

The theory was that with notable exceptions) #Photography can't capture all of the elements of a battle, so a painting of the general impression afterwards would be much more useful - And probably have fewer dying people in the way to ruin it.
