My point here is... as a media composer you're often working inside a box, working on someone else's story heard with someone else's ears and that's part of the joy, the craft, and the challenge.
But we don't need to also box Ourserlves in the same way.
I'm learning to slow down, and to write what I feel.
And I'm learning to worry less.

I did a lot of experimenting with this piece, playing with time and pattern, and stability. In a way I'm quite glad it's the show's only music because it has a lot to say.
I put it on Bandcamp today, and am letting it go into the rest of the world shortly. I'm trying to lean into Bandcamp though, because of all the ways to support me, my music, and this show, it's the clear winner!

I have lots of thoughts about this piece of music.
The Last Echoes doesn't have space for a lot of music. Episodes are 10ish minutes long, and scoring them didn't feel right, but this one song serves as opening and closing, and... it's been sitting in my head for even longer than the show has.
Loneliness in the huge emptiness of space, maintaining your pattern without anything solid around you, room to grow and be and change.

It is Beautiful.
I have some fairly strong thoughts about storytelling that I didn't even realize I had until I sat and thought about this show.
I love stories that come at you sideways and in pieces. The Tower is fractured. It's a mix of memories, inner monologues, conversations, and music all wrapped up in effective sound design and beautiful acting.

This week my listening was 95% Valence, as I made my way through the series finale. Wow, that was such a satisfying and beautiful and just a little painful ending! As expected, I'm both very happy I listened and extremely sad it's over. What a beautiful, powerful, and personal story!
I also got to listen to the beginning of Re: Dracula. I haven't read the book since I was a teenager, and can already tell it's going to be a different, lovely, and memorable experience hearing it with this cast, sound, and music!
Plus it would be weird if I didn't mention that Monday the first episode of #TheLastEchoes came out! Overwhelmed by the simple fact that it's in the world and people are listening. Still not quite feeling the feelings there but I can sense them lurking. (A link below for them as would like to listen)

Today I'm continuing work on transcripts. (I did feel up to doing a few yesterday after plenty of rest and other happenings.)
And I realized I hadn't shared or downloaded one of my favorite pictures by Tal yet!
Listening-wise this week I kept up with Moonbase Theta Out and enjoyed the heck out of the ACs evolving, and finished season 2 of Valence. I'd planned the take a break before diving into season 3 but after that ending there was no way I could!
Lots of little odds and ends to get done this week. Lots of firsts. For now though, it's back to transcripts. One thing at a time.
