Well that was fun, found a SWFA qualifying market that fits the theme of my story perfectly. My glorious spouse had already done his edits, so I tweaked it and off it goes.
I haven't submitted something to a publisher for close to 20 years. We'll see how this goes.
1 short story rejection received today; 5 submissions sent out. Not exactly a s sustainable rate, but it was a productive afternoon. All #ScienceFiction today. First time in a while. I'd been dabbling with sister genres.

Hey guys, I'm feeling a little shaken right now. I just logged into my Goodreads account and there were 11 messages from various users all threatening me. They all appear to be from burner accounts and I did report each one. I've been active this week in a few groups, and have had some good conversations there. These were Twitter-level hatred filled messages. Of course I didn't reply, I'm not into feeding trolls. But it's unsettling. #writingcommunity #authorsofmastodon
Having set up my standing desk today, I have to say this is a GAME CHANGER.
This is the one I got and it is frequently on lightning deals for about $10-$20 less, making it super affordable.

Fun question - if you were to go to a writing retreat out in the middle of nowhere (but pretty good views if I say so myself) would you be okay with a building where the sleeping/common rooms are in one building, but the bathroom/shower is right next door in another building with good walkways and lighting between?

So to me, one of the most radical things we can do is reclaim that community. Reach out to one another. I remember group blogs and shared worlds and I'd LOVE to find those again in whatever form they take here. We need to remember that books aren't widgets, their pieces of our soul sent into the world to nourish and sustain not just us, but our readers too.

Wasn't happy with original idea for granddaughter's shawl so started & finished a different design. Going to undo the other and use this pattern instead.
Though the other was too 'heavy/old' for them.

I don't follow each chapter, instead I write as I think - all over the place (a butterfly panster) but it comes together at the end.
Originally book 5 was supposed to feature a different hero but instead this character kept demanding it be his book.

So he got book 5 and the other character (of which I'd already written 45k) has been moved to book 6..
