So #BG3, a game that I by all accounts should really enjoy. But I've yet to leave act1 and haven't started it in three months. And it's because it's so darn damn cinematic that I get annoyed about it. All these closeup cinematic interactions annoyed me to bits. And don't get me started about the skill roller. It's a great game no doubt about it. I just wish it was less fancy. Is there an old school UI rework mod out there?

I know most people are already on their 2nd or 3rd or more playthroughs of #BaldursGate3 but I'm still on my first because I don't get to play often.
Anyhow, I am in the unfortunate situation where I can't progress one quest without progressing a second quest which I can't progress because...it leads to half of the end of Act 3, which I don't want to trigger yet. Super tedious.

Currently have a weird bug where my character's hand crossbow is rendering 5ft in the air behind her instead of holstered. Swapping weapons fixes it but then it just happens again.

When I was first working out a good build for Karlach, I figured she was gonna be a frontline tank, so surely wildheart bear is best. Resistance to physical is fine but surely resistance to everything is better?
In practice though, resistance to physical is more than good enough.
Then I tried out Wildheart Elk and became a believer.
You get a charge attack that does small dmg in a line but knocks everyone you pass prone. It's insane.

Okay, some more #BaldursGate3 today and one unfortunate side-effect of me trying to get as many damage bonuses as possible is that even just charging across the battlefield does damage now....which is not great when there are civilians around. Had to reload because I just accidentally slaughtered half the people I was rushing in to save.

@chris Agreed. Patch #4 and hotfix #11 made it clear that they aren’t doing any #Linux testing. Which is odd considering how well their games run on Linux. 🤔

I’ve been doing the trick of renaming the DirectX launcher as the Vulkan one, to force #bg3 to launch in DirectX.

It works fine, but there is a noticeable difference between Vulkan and DX11 for me. DX11 is not as smooth or “polished” as Vulkan.

It’s still playable, even on my OS of choice, so I’m *trying* not to complain too much. 🤷🏾‍♀️

It’s a little annoying how rolling a 1 is immediately a critical failure, even if you have the buffs to make it a success.

For example, if the difficulty class is 15, and I have 14+ in buffs, how is rolling a 1 an insta-fail?

On the contrary, there have been times where the difficulty class is 30, but rolling a 20 is a critical success.

How sway?! Make it make sense.

Kicking the undead horse: As I have stated before #BG3 cannot be the industry standard due to the fact that Larian is in the position of being an Indie developer that is AA+ in size. I don't know of any other Indie developer that has 200+ employees in offices all over the world?

However, PLAYERS will not make this distinction, players WILL hold future games from any of the big developers to the standard of this game and there will be much implosions of forums and worse still.

Wanted to draw my Baulder's Gate 3 character, Lilac the Tifling Bard. I'm still not very far into the game honestly, I keep taking breaks due to decision paralysis haha. I dunno if they walked back the horny fix or not but the way I had three companions wanting to fuck on our very first night at camp + whatever the fuck was going on with Lae’zel’s dialogue feels like they deliberately wanted to prove demisexual’s point: There’s no possible way I have that much rizz, we’ve known each other for less than 24 (admittedly action packed) hours y’all are a little weird to me, surely attraction doesn’t actually work that way. #BaldursGate3 #BG3 #CitroPlaysBG3
