Through a process of elimination of "plots" and images online, we think we've worked out that Hercules Conquers Atlantis (a.k.a. Hercules and the Captive Women) is the only one of the late 50s/early 60s Hercules movies we've not seen. Rectifying that now.
Not sure what it was that made it such a god-awful movie, but rushing the production certainly didn’t help. Because it really is one of the worst big-budget films of this century. Perhaps the worst I’ve seen since Ishtar (which was waaaay worse than Waterworld).

I don't ever remember seeing Day of the Dead and I am happy. It was dreadful, terrible and awful.
Not sure where in the lineup this one fits, but it shouldn't have been made---obviously the bulk of the budget went to special make up effects.
If you watch shows like Best of the Worst you can "see" tons of bad movies and never have to spend the time watching them. I think that's what the internet was meant for.

Roger Corman's production of The Fantastic Four (1994), directed by Oley Sassone and starring Alex Hyde-White as Reed Richards, and Joseph Culp as Victor von Doom.
This is not as bad a movie as its reputation would lead you to believe. Classic Corman cost cutting could cause crowds to cringe, but earnest acting raises this flick above expectations.
It didn't hurt that I watched it at 1.5x speed...
This takes place “23 years after the cancellation”. I’m assuming they are talking about “Firefly”.
It’s astonishing that there was any cocaine for the rest of 80s after they made this film.

I couldn't settle for one bad movie tonight, so I also watched Dead Noon (2.5/10 on IMDB).
It's pretty good for a movie filmed on a $4,000 USD budget, and had an entertaining start, but started to drag on pretty quick. Lots of shooting, not so much entertainment.
Tonight's bad movie was Alien Apocalypse (4.4/10 on IMDB).
I used to see this on the shelf at Blockbuster back in the day and assumed it was an Alien ripoff. Little did I know, it's actually a Planet of the Apes ripoff - and decently entertaining.
Awful acting. Dubbing. Cheap costumes and wigs. Ridiculous dialogue. Gratuitous use of stock sound effects. Bad CGI. It's all here.
Good fun, but I'm pretty sure Bruce Campbell is the only reason this movie isn't 2/10.
Second night in a row we're watching a sequel to a film we've not seen. Here's hoping it's a little easier to follow.

Time to sneak in another #MST3K movie tonight, and it's going to be Star Force: Fugitive Alien II. We haven't seen the part one (or we've had it erased from our memories) but that's okay because a review on this 2.0 IMDb-rated film claims "Don't worry if you missed the first and consider yourself lucky!"
Tonight's #MST3K archive movie is Gamera vs Zigra, the last of the Gamera movies from season three, and that fact alone is worthy of celebration. The Gamera films have been a little bit tedious, to say the least.
There might have been something to this if it didn’t continually act like it wanted to be a soft core p*rn.
Not a bad effort for an indie film as far as story and set pieces, etc., and the star is actually not too bad of an actress! It’s just unfortunate that she feels that the character needed to have her fake boobs out all the time.

Tonight's bad movie: 500 MPH Storm.
I loved this film. The acting isn't particularly interesting, but the gratuitous low-quality CGI and lack of scene continuity is often hilarious.
Storm scenes are filmed on sunny days, with the weather CGI'd over the sky. When they switch to a different angle, the stormy weather completely disappears.
CGI is sometimes used for the car in driving scenes, and its shadow occasionally disappears.
Lots of weird things like that. It was fun.
Tonight's bad movie is Robot Holocaust (2.3/10 on IMDB).
This movie is just plain bad. Terrible acting. Tedious exposition from a disembodied villain. Costumes and sets are cheap and uninspired.
The vibe of this movie is dragging your unenthusiastic LARPer friends to the local park and refusing to let them leave until they participate in your amateur film project.
Everyone shits on Battlefield Earth, but it's significantly more enjoyable than Robot Holocaust.

I finally saw Battlefield Earth for the first time.
What a movie! I thought it couldn't possibly be as bad as everyone said, but it's true.
It's visually interesting - decent character designs, sets, and CGI. Too much blue light, if anything.
Everything else is *atrocious*. The acting is hilariously bad, and complimented by a truly awful script.
I can't believe $45 million USD was spent on this train wreck.

I watched ‘NIGHT OF THE DEMONS’ for the #MBMC and it did not disappoint. The story is pretty simple. Teenagers party in a haunted house and get possessed by evil spirits. Sex, drugs, rock and roll. Bad acting, terrible writing and awful special effects. That said, it was still a lot of fun. Gruesome kills, sexy women (including #LinneaQuigley and #AmeliaKinkade) and some very memorable moments make for an entertaining classic.
It's that time again-- I'm going to watch a bad movie and toot about it because I'm home by myself and have no one to annoy in person.
Tonight's feature film is special for Halloween -- it's called Hack-O-Lantern, it's from 1988 and doesn't star anyone remotely famous.

Delving into the #MST3K library archive for movies we can't remember seeing before, so tonight we're watching Earth Versus The Spider. We're not good around spiders, which might explain why we've avoided this until now, but we are good around 1950s movies with quite likely terrible special effects and unrealistic arachnids, so we're giving it a go.

Today's bad movie is Clownado (3.3 on IMDB).
The acting is absolutely awful, but in a fun way, and the movie seems to have a decent budget for what it is. It's about as enjoyable as Land Shark was.
Fun fact, part of Liberi Fatali (the opening theme from Final Fantasy VIII) is used in the fight scene at 49:53. It's a little faint, but there's no way you could sneak that by me.

Watched Barney Burman's Wild Boar (3.7/10 on IMDB).
It's a fun little horror movie with a bizarre plot and some awkward camera work/directing. Where it really shines is the pig man costumes and practical effects.
There's not much info about this film's production online, so I have no idea what its budget was. I can't imagine it was very high, which makes the convincing pig men even better.
An entertaining film to have on in the background.
After spending seven hours cleaning today, it's time to kick back and relax with another bad movie.

Just finished watching 2-Headed Shark Attack (2.5/10 on IMDB). This one's just mediocre and doesn't have anything going for it. The worst kind of bad movie.
If you're going to watch a bad Jaws knockoff, Land Shark is the way to go.
Continuing the shark theme, I just finished Sharkansas Women's Prison Massacre (3.1/10 on IMDB).
It's a significantly more competent movie than Land Shark in every way, but that also makes it less fun.
Amazon Prime has a massive collection of *truly awful* movies. There are probably a hundred derivative disaster movies alone.

Finally saw Texas Chain Saw Massacre 2 yesterday. Really enjoyed it. Compared to the original, it's silly, but also scarier, I think. Definitely more entertaining. The original was kind of slow.

I watched ‘VICE ACADEMY 2’ for the #MBMC and it was just as stupid and horny as the first, not that that’s a bad thing. When your two leads are Ginger Lynn Allen and Linnea Quigley, you know what to expect. Nice surprise to see Teagan Clive. Big muscle women were mostly used as comic relief in movies like this, but in this one…. Wait, no. Yeah, comic relief here too. I liked the first Vice Academy more if I’m being honest, but this one was fun.
I watched ‘VAMPIRE HOOKERS’ for the #MBMC and it was exactly what you would expect from a movie by #CirioSantiago. Terrible acting, offensive slurs, titties. It's mostly about two sailors who are dumb as fuck. One gets captured by vampires and they TELL HIM they’re going to kill him, but they’ll fuck him first and he’s like, “Sounds good!” Dumb ass. Lucky for him, his dumb ass friend saves him. Overall, this was just a stupid little sexy comedy.
Look, if you put me in front of a Family Dollar DVD section with money in my pocket, the chances are high that I'm going to make a poor financial decision. Just read an online article about the film Starcrash (1978), and why it is a Good/Bad movie, and states why you should watch it, and it *didn't mention* the fact that a young David Hasselhoff is a large factor of Star Crash, so the article is bad and stupid.

Clive Turner claimed Pioneertown was "one of his favorite towns", and wanted to shoot the film there as a tribute to the town and its eclectic residents. As such, all of the townsfolk act in the film and use their real names for their characters.

Have you seen this, or even heard of it? I saw it once when I was like 7. The premise: "Doctors are forced to transplant the head of a dying, racist surgeon onto the body of a black death row inmate."
Someone prolly got really drunk and came up with the #WhatIf scenario: What if a racist ass MF got stuck with the body of a black man? And to make it more interesting, he can't hide inside the body AND the black dude is there too.
The social commentary went over my head. I'd watch anything that was remotely #ScienceFiction or just plain weird - and there's not much weirder than this. It looked soooo fake. And since I LOVED #70s #Bollywood, I was fine with #movies that had logical & other inconsistencies.

In the first 10 minutes of the thing, there were 65 things wrong with "65," the Adam Driver 90 million dollar washout. Just not great. Bad premise. Bad script. At about 90 minutes, it makes you wonder if they had 2 hours of awful and cut it the best they could.
Oh well!

“Gramps” is the writer/director who goes back to college to prove to the science department that they are all wrong and god is real. Featuring my favorite anti science line of all time “If Natural Selection is real, how much does it weigh?”
It’s awful and unbelievably stupid but I had the absolute best time watching it. A girl dies from alcohol poisoning and is brought back through prayer.
I watched ‘HARD TICKET TO HAWAII’ for the #MBMC and it lived up to its rep for being trashy and FUN!! Just the perfect mix of classless sexuality and hyper-macho 1980s action. The action is insane, from the inflatable sex doll-clutching skateboard assassin to a henchman who is killed via razor-tipped Frisbee. Not to mention that the subplot revolves around the girls hunting a snake that has been “infected with toxins from cancer-infested rats”?

I watched ‘VICE ACADEMY’ for the #MBMC and it would be generous to call it a low-budget Police Academy. The acting is atrocious and the writing is even worse. Linnea Quigley and Ginger Lynn are the leads, so you get exactly what you expect with this one. My favorite is ‘Shawnee’ (Karen Russell). Her um.. distraction technique (shown below) is quite.. effective. There are groan-worthy moments, but there are also some genuinely funny moments. #MastodonBadMovieClub #BadMovies

So, I watched ‘Robo Vampire’ for #MBMC and I immediately need to see EVERY #GodfreyHo film he’s ever ‘directed.’ I put ‘directed’ in quotes because it’s more like editing really. Ho splices together multiple movies to make his films, with absolutely no regard for continuity and it’s hilarious. No, your eyes do not deceive you. This movie has a ton going on in it and it just gets more and more batshit the longer you watch it. 😂

If you're looking for a great terrible movie to watch on NYE, we watched the 1999 Arnold Schwarzenegger film END OF DAYS for Bad Movie Theater yesterday. It's a mashup of the Omen, the DaVinci Code with a splash of Se7ev and some Y2K hysteria too. In case you're wondering, yes, Arnold DOES shoot the Devil with a machine gun. It's baffling and stupid and wildly entertaining. It was written by the guy who wrote Air Force One and directed by the guy who made Timecop.
