The main function of a #bank is to perform maturity transformation between creditors and debitors. And that they handle some of the risks coming with it (and often make a profit from handling that risk, unless they don't). Some of that risk can be offloaded, but only if they follow certain rules.
In a #cryptocurrency, someone or something needs to perform this function as well. However, nobody wants to take the risk or submit to the rules for offloading that risk. ⚡

Something is broken in the bank's system. OK. The problem is that they themselves are challenged with finding a security specialist in their own organization.

Today the US government took over a failing bank and sold it to our largest bank. In order to sell it, it had to use $13,000,000,000 taxpayer dollars to split insurance on uninsured funds. Once again, we socialized losses of banks whose gains are private. Once again, we were told it was far better than the alternative.
So, what is the alternative? Well, the alternative is to unmask the system as a complete scam that redistributes wealth away from those who need it most. The maneuver was a slight adjustment to a house of cards.

The bank seems to defer fraud protection to Paypal, but since Paypal is not a bank (and Paypal loves to claim that), Paypal is not on the hook for regulation E protection. Paypal has gaps in their protection. E.g. “friends & family” transactions.
