The thing that buggers me the most is boosting.
I know boosting is important because it’s the only way to spread the news around as there are no #algorithms here to force-feed us what they “think” is good for us, and I’m quite a #booster myself, too. But I’ve cut back a bit recently for a simple reason: I can’t hide boosted posts from my #profile.
I mean, when someone views my profile I want them to see my toots first so they can get an idea of who I am and, conversely, when I visit someone else’s profile I prefer to see what they have to say.
If you’re a generous booster but not so creative in the “#ContentCreation” department, just like me, you get a profile full of re-blogged posts where your original #toots are hard to find. And no, #Pinned toots don’t do the trick.
If there’s a #hack to work around this, I would much appreciate if you share it here.

At my first #COVID shot in early 2021, when the 15 minutes wait to see if you collapse was still a thing, I looked at the 50 or so freshly vaccinated somber people in the room as a nurse filled out the CDC card.
I squinted and said: 'So, there are four rows on the card. Is that a loyalty card, like, buy two get two free?"
The nurse was puzzled for a second but a woman some six feet away laughed out loud. Then the laughter rippled across the room.

I expected it to be free or cheap. No insurance at CVS is $190. Gotta be less than that, right? Couple weeks later they email me a statement for $610 and tell me I need to pay $508 of that. You have to call the customer service line, request the shorter timeline (89 day window), accept the consent, then they can book it over the phone.

Because my husband is immunocompromised he is eligible for an extra dose of the latest COVID vaccination. Because I'm with him, I'm kind of eligible too. The wife and I have both acquired the newest Covid booster as of about 4 hours ago. Walgreen's gave us no trouble at all with regards to getting the booster for free, unlike Walmart who wanted $155 per shot.
Bridge Access Program for the Covid was a breeze. Didn't even have to fill out any special paperwork or anything else.
So much for getting the new Covid booster shot from Walmart today.
Walmart is supposed to be part of the Bridge Access Program where people with no insurance can get the shot for free. But they had clue it even existed and couldn't figure out a way to enter billing information so that the wife and I could get it for free. We weren't going to pay $155 per shot either.

Went to Walgreens because I'd read a few problematic reports about recent experiences at CVS. We had appointments, and it took about 45min total due to how busy they were (early evening), but overall the process was smooth.
We were the only ones with masks on in or around the pharmacy until just before we left, when another couple came sporting N95/KN95 masks. 😷
I really wish the person with the productive cough who came in to check on a prescription had been kind enough to mask the fuck up. 😠

Today I felled a large black cherry tree, which had some chance of falling on the house if it broke, as these cherry trees will.

When scheduling vaccines, BE AWARE - if you schedule a GROUP, it may tell you there are no appts. when if you did it individually, there are lots (even at the same time on the same day - so their system is wonky).
This happened with both Walgreens and CVS. We tried to get four people in at once, site says "no openings" for weeks. Went to 2 people: same thing. Went to 1 person: scheduled everyone for same day within 90 minutes of each other!
Just got my COVID booster and everything hurts. But what hurts worse was the pharmacist telling me that she had to turn away people WHO WANTED THE SHOT because their insurance providers wouldn't cover it (manufacturers are charging ~$120*).
