The problem is not that Meta/Google platforms are stealing content or linking to it, but rather that they collude to defraud publishers by owning the entire ad-supported ecosystem because they represent the buyers, the sellers, the marketplace, and they are publishers and advertisers in their own right.
Our national broadcaster should not even be involved with this marketplace. Profit-sharing with Meta only gets the #CBC more deeply involved with this corporate giant.

Unfortunately this also extends to many government accounts. There was talk back during the #TwitterMigration with some federal employees to see if we can get some momentum to get the fed gov't to have a presence on the #fediverse but that went nowhere. There appears to be more appetite for this in Europe instead...
