Bit of a "tourist" shot, but sooner or later you just have to take a night shot from Calton Hill...
One from the archives: taken this week in 2019, "message from the skies" was over the city, including this light installation by Kapka Kassabova which was projected onto the National Monument on Calton Hill, celebrating Scotland's historical links with Europe in defiance of the Brexit vote down south that dragged us with it.
Calton Hill in Edinburgh, offering one of the best panoramic views in a city of many superb viewpoints. On the left is the Dugald Stewart Monument, built in 1831, while Edinburgh Castle forms the horizon in the centre of the picture. I wrote a story… I do it occasionally, less often than I’d like to, and sometimes they get printed. Here’s a bit of me reading it, filmed by my kind friend, a writer and a poet, Agata Maslowska. You can read the whole story in vol. 2.1 (print edition) of The Other Side of Hope literary magazine https://othersideofhope.com/volume-2.html
