If you live in #Canada, then you benefit in some way from migrant labour. Whether it's the food you eat, the hotel you sleep in, the clean floors in your office, or any of a thousand other activities, migrant labourers have been involved.
Unfortunately, despite their contributions to our society, many of them are nonetheless denied permanent resident status, and thus deprived of basic rights that are taken for granted by the rest of the #Canadian population.
Help send the message to the government that this needs to change.

All of the semi-serious or serious #national #federal #political parties - #Conservative, #Green, #Liberal, New Democrat in alphabetical order - fall in the upper-right quadrant of the chart. They're not even particularly close to the center; the closest to the center would be the Conservatives, but they're only a tiny bit closer than the Liberals, a bit more than the others.

First, the #categorization of #political views along a single left-right #axis is almost #useless. This has long been known, and alternatives exist that present a much more accurate picture, but the traditional #media is #addicted to "#left this" and "#right that" and is lazy, so they'll probably never get better.

Amazing to see Smoulder play live on their first ever tour. And then to have them hit a super small venue just 10-15 minutes from my home. One that even has a policy to never ask above 8 euro entry at the door.

this past year alone, my family has faced evacuation twice in the #canadian north. during the current evac, thousands of northerners have zero communication with their families, emergency personnel or wildfire data.
this is entirely due to the collapse of NorthwesTel's fibre network infrastructure and zero secondary systems for comms. the sub/arctic is infamous for its fragile, ancient comms architecture.
