@Castopod coraz bardziej się rozwija i integracja z Fedi coraz lepsza. Polecam. Potrzebuje tylko PHP w wersji 8 i można odpalić na hostingu bez większych problemów. Polecam do podkastów, ale w zasadzie jest to serwer ActivityPub.
Ach ja... es gibt auch #Castopod als Podcast-Provider-Service zum Selbsthosten... kann man per RSS in jedem Podcatcher dann abonnieren. Man kann sogar pro User "Premium-Freigaben" machen und das allerbeste... man kann einem Castopod-Channel vom Fediverse aus folgen und dort kommentieren, ohne auf einem Castopod-Server einen Account zu haben, weil es mit ActivitPub teil des Fediverse ist.
Mein #Castopod Server ist jetzt auf 1.6.5 aktualisiert (1,7 kennt Yunohost noch nicht). Werde jetzt meine Podcast-Landschaft mal etwas aufräumen und dann wird es auch wieder öfters Episoden geben.

While you're at it, maybe you can help with what seems like a full-on aversion to Peertube from the Nextcloud team? YouTube seems like the opposite of all Nextclouds stated values, yet even offering to find an instance, set up automatic mirroring to a Peertube instance and hand over the credentials is consistently met with stony silence.
Making the Nextcloud podcast available on Peertube (and/or #Funkwhale and/or #Castopod) would be a huge step forward. 👍

Ich hab mal mit Castopod rumgespielt.
Erste zwei Probleme:
- alle Versionen nach 1.6.0 werfen bei mir in einer frischen Container Installation eine unhandled exception
- config inklusive secrets wird ins app log nach stdout geprinted
Beide Issues werden reported sobald mein Gitlab Account auf Castopods Gitlab Instanz freigeschaltet ist
Ich hab mir jetzt ein #Castopod aufgesetzt... Das ist echt nett.
Föderiert direkt ins Fediverse... und man hat die Möglichkeit, auch Folgen nur gegen Bezahlung (Anmeldetoken) freizuschalten... und für solche Folgen eine kostenlose Hörprobe anzubieten.
Nur falls ihr mal Interesse an freier Software für die Präsentation von Podcasts habt.

Hallo Fediverse! Bitte um Rückmeldung + Ergänzungen: Übersichts-Tabelle mit Fediverse-Diensten, Vergleichsdiensten und Funktionen
Ich schreibe einen Artikel über den #FediverseFachtag und in dem Rahmen natürlich auch über das #Fediverse . Zielgruppe sind Leute, die wahrscheinlich zum Großteil noch gar nix vom Fediverse gehört haben.
Dazu bin ich dabei, eine Tabelle zu erstellen, in der einige Fedi-Dienste sowie deren Haupt-/ besondere Funktionen aufgeführt werden sollen.
Das ist der derzeitige Entwurf:

Ein Vergleich mit kommerziellen Plattformen ist natürlich immer nur zum Teil passend. Ich kenne auch keinen der kommerziellen Dienste aus eigener Erfahrung, aber für die avisierte Zielgruppe kann so ein Vergleich vielleicht trotzdem eine hilfreiche Orientierung sein. Vielleicht gibt es da aber auch Vergleiche, die passender sind. Einige Dienste (bspw. Medium, Podigee) kannte ich auch noch nicht mal vom Namen her, sondern habe das nur aus ähnlichen Vergleichstabellen übernommen.
Zu den "besonderen Funktionen":
Insbesondere Friendica, Firefish und v.a. Hubzilla haben so viele Funktionen, dass diese im Rahmen der Tabelle nur exemplarisch aufgeführt werden können und die Auswahl ist subjektiv. Hier wäre die Frage, ob das eine passende Auswahl ist, ob besonders wichtige fehlen oder ob andere Funktionen wichtiger oder besonderer sind.

- #Mobilizon ist klasse, hat aber viele Bugs, die nur schleppend gelöst werden.

- #Pleroma ist klasse
- #Firefish ist klasse
- #Plume ist gut, aber es fehlen noch essentielle Moderationstools
- #Writefreely ist auch gut, aber die Entwicklung scheint ganz eingeschlafen zu sein.
Also ich bin im Großen und ganzen zufrieden. Und da ich nur bescheidene Programmierkenntnisse habe, und wenig Zeit, bringe ich mich bei Friendica ein und löse so Kleinigkeiten, die mir von Anfang an aufgestoßen sind. #disannoying sozusagen. 😊

I would echo what Hänzi said that an organization should eventually run their own #Mastodon, #Firefish, #PeerTube, #Castopod server or add #ActivityPub natively to their site
Not only will it take a load off of a server but:
1 Scales the Fedi out, which is where there Fedi shines IMO
2 Give you total control of your messaging/distribution
The Mastodon docs are pretty mature and IT pro with some Linux/networking experience can get a server up and running in no time

Und ich muss sagen, die Features sind schon sehr nett.
Geplante Veröffentlichungen, Covers für jede Folge, sonst wird das Podcast-Cover verwendet, Like, Share, Kommentieren... funktioniert von Friendica aus gut.
Nur #Funkwhale zickt mal wieder. Wollte einen Podcast in Funkwhale abonnieren... Sowohl via AP als auch RSS... bei beiden mag Funkwhale nicht.
Der Podcast wird zwar gefunden per AP, aber als Person erkannt...
Wenn ich Aktivitäten oder Übersicht anzeigen will, gibts einen Serverfehler.
Per RSS brauchts mehrere Anläufe der Suche, bis man den abonnieren kann... Selbiges kenne ich von anderen Funkwhale-Channels auf anderen instanzen auch... man muss 2, 3x suchen bis ein Ergebnis kommt.
Hab das den Entwicklern von Funkwhale schon vor langem gemeldet... und vieles andere auch... inkonsistente Menüführungen, fehlerhafte Zuordnung zu Künstlern usw.
Jedesmal, wenn ich mich wieder mal mit Funkwhale beschäftige, merke ich, wie sehr man der Entwickler dieses Projektes sein muss, um herauszufinden, wie die Menüs gemeint sind...
Hab das auch damals mehrmals gemeldet, was dazu führte, dass sogar mein Git-Account bei denen gesperrt wurde und ich aus dem Matrix-Chat geworfen wurde.
Jetzt hab ich endlich die Muse gehabt, mir Castopod anzusehen. Da ist auch noch manches nicht fertig... aber das Ding gefällt mir richtig gut. :-)
Ich habe vorgestern dann im Endeffekt doch erfolgreich #Castopod installieren können.
Und jetzt möchte ich euch auf einen Podcast/Hörbuch hinweisen, wo ich vom Schöpfer @luebbermann die Erlaubnis bekommen habe, das auch zu verbreiten (ursprünglich für meine #Funkwhale Instanz, aber die kann mit Podcasts einfach nicht gut umgehen, daher nun auf Castopod).
Momentan hab ich noch nichts veröffentlicht davon, da ich gerade dabei bin, mich in die Software einzuarbeiten.

Don't try the all-in-one docker image the docs recommend. If you ask why there's no output at all at the exposed port you're told to use the seperated app/web-server container solution. And that actually works.
And you need to set a redis password! You find everything related to that in the project's discord.

Das blöde daran ist nämlich, dass Nutzer denken, sie folgen, weil zunächst Erfolg der Anfrage angezeigt wird, sie aber dann doch nicht abgeschlossen wurde. Das sieht man als Nutzer aber erst, wenn man das nochmal kontrolliert...

Rss widać tylko przez podcasters.spotify.com (ale patrz wyżej - więcej tam śledzenia niż kontentu) . I oczywiście to nie jest wprost sfederowane - chyba, że ktoś ma swoim fedi-serwerze bezpośrednią obsługę rss (np #friendica).
Więc jak ktoś nie chce robić greenwashing'u ("no przecież mój podcast jest dostępny dla każdego bez logowania...") to równoległa publikacja np przez któryś federacyjny serwis (#funkwhale, #castopod) jest najlepszym wyjściem.
BTW castopod ma naprawdę minimalne wymagania sprzętowe (w porównaniu do np mastodona czy jego pochodnych) - bez problemu da się uruchomić na każdym najtańszym vps'ie

You still use email, right? That's how users in the #Fediverse are addressed with an extra @ at the front. But if you are capable of #email addressing, you can do user addressing on #Mastodon #Pixelfed #PeerTube #Misskey #Pleroma #Funkwhale #BookWyrm #Owncast #Castopod #Microblog #WriteFreely #Plume #Lemmy #kbin #mobilizon etc.

#castopod was requested but i think it is not meant for multiaccounts and exploring creators. am i wrong?
Was wondering the following:
1. what are the biggest pitfalls to watch out for when moving hosts and trying to insure as few disruptions as possible with your subscribers?
2. what are the analytic features like on #Castopod?
3. Outside of Castopod what #selfhosted solutions do you trust the most and why?

#castopod is free open-source podcasting software, so you can host your own podcast. Distributing podcasts via RSS streams is nothing new ofcourse. But having the comments directly integrate is.

Screen 1️⃣: follow the account, and new episodes appear in your timeline. Notice the comments placed on Mastodon.
Screen 2️⃣: On the website of the podcast, respond to comments made on Mastodon, or start a new thread!
