Rejecting Empty Promises
Matthew 26:14–16
One of the central lessons we can learn from Judas is that the desire for money is a powerful incentive for the decisions we make. So many of the great saints have taught us that the path to holiness consists, first, in a

Expressing Your Love of God
John 12:4–5
One clear lesson this teaches us is that nothing is too good for our Lord. It’s true that we must do our part to help care for the poor, but Jesus’ response to Judas is quite interesting. He says, “Leave her alone. Let her keep

The Effects of Jesus’ Ministry
John 11:47–48
One beautiful truth to reflect upon within this context is that God uses all things for His glory and for the salvation of those who believe. With this meeting of the Sanhedrin, these men began to plot the death of Jesus.

Living in the Moment
John 8:58–59
When Moses encountered God in the burning bush, God revealed His name: I AM. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches that this revelation of God’s name “is at once a name revealed and something like the refusal of a name."

If you can grow in a deeper awareness of your own sin before God, one of the effects will be that it is then easier to be less judgmental and condemning of others. A person who sees his sin is more apt to be merciful to other sinners.

Happy New Year! #CatholicTwitter

Howdy y'all! Migrating over to this account as my primary. Hoping to build up some of what was #CatholicTwitter on the Fediverse.
I'll keep my usual posting though. Plenty on family life, WordPress and tech, etc. Not just churchy stuff.
New instance, new #introduction (1/3).
When I set up shop in Mastodon last month, I found I missed #CatholicTwitter -- which for all its toxicity, had pockets of sanity that made it bearable. So, I created a second Mastodon presence with which to find my faith tribe. I've relocated that presence to deacon.social.
I'm a #RomanCatholic wife and mom of a teenager, as well as a befuddled first-time #CCD teacher. Interests include:
how do I find my #CatholicTwitter peeps? Where is the search button? How do I post a gif?!?... I feel lost and alone!
I'm looking to determine if there is sufficient interest in a Mastodon instance for Catholic religious. My thought here is to get #CatholicTwitter off Twitter, religious need to be on Mastodon AND moderating an instance of vowed religious/clergy is sustainable (versus all of Catholic Twitter, which I am not getting involved in!)
