Passend zum ersten Tag unseres Fantastischen Adventskalenders fahre ich mit der Kutsche nach Onsgart, der Heimat des Luperkus Dalibor, eines Königskriegers.

Rums.

Ein empfindlicher Schlag in mein Kreuz. Das Rad der Kutsche ist durch ein besonders tiefes Schlagloch gefahren. Die Wege sind hier nicht gerade die Besten. Mächtige Stämme gleiten an mir vorbei, riesenhafte Bäume, wie ich sie bisher noch nie gesehen habe. Einzelne bunte Blätter hängen noch an den Ästen und es riecht nach Schnee.

Rums.

Ich hüpfe ein Stück von der harten Holzbank nach oben. Noch mehr Stämme, stachelige Beerensträucher und armdicke, von Moos überwucherte Wurzeln. Wir fahren durch einen Urwald, wie es ihn auch in Deutschland einst gegeben haben mag. Auch die Tiere sind mir vertraut. Ein Reh springt über den Weg, eine Meise ruft „Tsi Tsi bä“ und ein Fuchs lugt zwischen dem Dickicht hervor. Ich besuche meinen Protagonisten Dalibor in seiner Welt. Das erste Mal – und ich bin etwas aufgeregt. Ich wollte ihn in der Hauptstadt treffen.

Seine Welt ist eine mittelalterliche Welt mit einzelnen Fantasieelementen. Das wichtigste Fest stellt Luperkalien dar, die Erweckungszeremonie der Königskrieger.

A #lesson ingrained years ago by friend and mentor Joe Duty is that, once confident that you have the #photo you want/need (for yourself/assignment) if you have the time/space, try something else out – just for #fun, for a #challenge, for the heck of it.

I did that today with the partial annular #eclipse – and found a pleasant surprise. After purposely avoiding #blur and lens #flare the whole time, I sought it out.

We recently passed the halfway point of my "Long #Summer" #reading #challenge (lasting from May Day to Halloween this year, or as we pagans know it, #Beltane to #Samhain), so I thought I'd check in with the list publicly to see how it's going. It's been a fascinating summer of reading, although my numbers are ridiculously low, just 12 books (or book series) finished, out of 32 I had hoped to be done with by now. But that's fine -- I'm only doing it for fun, and it's certainly fun!

It took way to much time, but I wanted to be sure it is the right thing and that everything works even better than before in the old utopify.org guild chat on #habitica And after a lots of struggles, it looks like it is usable, now.

The new lemmy instance covers topics like #selfdevelopment and #sustainability and everything what is connected to it. I will create a lot of communities the next weeks and almost every #challenge I provided on Habitica will be accessible publicly there, too. (And I will announce them on Mastodon).

It should be a safe space to focus on important topics and define fulfilling goals, create a habit to work on them and to reach them in an efficient way, even if the "All Feed" is activated, which can be distracting very fast, because it shows federated posts. I recommend to stay in the "Local Feed".

I've put so much energy, time and money in a self-hosted Lemmy instance, because what happened on Habitica was the last time that a company will be able to destroy the utopify community.

We had a healthy routine to set goals, have a sustainable mindset, motivate and inspire others and all was gone within a short time. This time the plan is, that it will stay for much much longer and that all experience will be saved and can be shared by everyone :)

The Lemmy instance is free of GAFAM spyware (Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft) or any trackers/ads and it runs on a private server and WE DON'T FEDERATE WITH #META (#threads, #project92, #p92)
