I’m learning the zhuyin keyboard, and for now it’s going well. I can’t type very fast, but I have memorised the position of all the letters I think.
It’s the third keyboard layout I’m learning after hangeul and bépo (for French).
I find that both the hangeul and the zhuyin keyboard were easy to learn compared to the bépo one.
I guess that’s because hangeul and zhuyin are completely new systems, whereas I had to forget about azerty/qwerty when learning bépo.

One of my favourite things about being able to watch modern day #Asian shows on streaming networks is seeing so many #Chinese & Asian foods that I grew up eating!
I grew up only seeing that content on paid cable tv shows, broadcasted from HK or mainland China. Now, I can watch shows from almost any Asian country!

My project to learn bopomofo (zhuyin) is going well. I learnt all the symbols, and even though I still need a lot of practice, I can use it already.
I switched from pinyin to zhuyin in the Pleco dictionary as well.
The main reason why I wanted to learn it is because the novel I’m reading has the option to display the pronunciation of the characters. It’s super useful :)

I’m learning #Mandarin #Chinese (informally, slowly, badly), and I have trouble with the 4 tones—but not the usual trouble. I’m a musician, and I can hear, recognize, and produce the tones no problem. What I can’t do well is remember them (which tone for each word). When I learn a word, my English-wired brain just discards this information, even though I fully understand its importance. Is this common?
Does anyone know of any good and accesible resources for people looking to improve their reading in traditional Chinese? Almost all the Chinese resources seem to be for simplified and now that I've switched to #TaiwaneseMandarin textbooks, I'm a bit stuck on what to do. Any advice (or boosts) from fellow learners would be greatly appreciated!

The so-called "national security law" ("#NSL") was imposed on #Hongkong (with "worldwide effect") by the never-elected #CCP dictatorship to protect it *from* the people, not to protect the #Chinese nation they repress or their occupied neighbours they systematically #genocide.
Does going against the *fundamental values* of the #UnitedNations (e.g. the #UN Charter) warrant something slightly more serious than a... letter?
The dictator that helped the CCP to overthrow the Republic of China, certain mr. stalin, was quickly ejected from the League of Nations for attempting to invade #Finland (and after having already invaded the Baltic states of #Lithuania, #Latvia and #Estonia and eastern half of #Poland in agreement with mr. hitler).
How does the #dictatorship that killed more people than #stalin and #hitler combined and invaded greater "#lebensraum" territory than either of those (*after* WWII and the founding of the UN!) was ever allowed to enter the UN Security Council and get a *veto* over anything?

This is why there is so much noise over #representation: it's hard to feel like you're part of something if everybody in it looks, talks, and behaves differently from you.
Try this experiment (likely a #ThoughtExperiment): Watch/read/whatever nothing but ancient #Chinese dramas for a month. Where everybody is named "weirdly" (and "confusingly" to boot!), where how they behave is alien and strange, and where everything they say seems unnatural to your ears (even in translation).
