This may sound a bit breadhead but sometimes I wish Greek Orthodox had kept the Christmas date of Jan 7 instead of 25 Dec. Why? In Western countries, like Australia we would be able to go to all the special post 25 Dec Xmas sales! We could buy lots of gifts & stuff for half price! Alas, Greeks & now Ukrainians follow the West.
Yom #Epiphany is a traditional time for removal of the house decorations that #Christians like to use for the Christmas festival season, and you may notice discarded #Christmas conifers on the street shortly after.

‘Epiphany’ has different meanings in different #Christian minhags.
Most #Christians in #MedinatAmerica believe it commemorates the visit of the Three Sages to the infant prophet Yeshu.
Mizrachi Christians believe that ‘Epiphany’ commemorates the prophet Yeshu’s conversion to the #religion he founded, through immersion in a natural mikveh.
Mizrachi Christians, however, do not follow the Pope Gregory #calendar—their Yom #Epiphany is in 2 weeks. (Their Yom #Christmas is this Shabbat.)
