They've always viewed both as an earned privilege of the wealthy.

Clean air delivery is mostly a numbers game, one often obscured by marketing.
Focus on the objective metrics that matter to the room occupants & facility managers.
1. Clean air delivery rate (Outside or filtered air)
2. Noise level
3. Total cost of ownership (Upfront & filter costs, energy use)
Sure would! Keep kids home when they are sick, let kids who are immunocompromised do school remotely!
Ventilation and filtration… there hints people are starting to get it?

Increases in deaths outstripping hospitalisations strongly suggest deaths in aged care businesses. (AIUI many aged care recipients don't go to hospital when they get Covid and instead die in the business's premises.

“Bang for the buck” is a key consideration in indoor air quality interventions not necessarily because we’re trying to spend the least (which does still matter in a broader scheme of resource allocation in public health), but because we’re trying to achieve the highest total clean air delivery rate at an acceptable noise level within budget. This is how we achieve cost-effective risk reduction.

There are solutions that will deliver high efficacy at low cost, and there are those that deliver low efficacy at a high cost.
The wisdom is knowing the difference.

The first time I heard the chant it was while helping to block the street in front of leading fossil fuel financer #BlackRock in lower Manhattan last Wednesday the 13th: “We need clean air, not another #billionaire!”
Then there was the other one: “Tax the Rich, Tax the Mother-F—ing Rich!”, also a big hit all throughout the week of actions in New York City.
