My #Nova license came up for renewal at the end of March and I’m debating whether to renew.

I like it so much more than VSCode, primarily because its the only “Mac-assed” code editor of it’s kind that I know and I want to support @panic.

I want to keep using it but there hasn’t been an update in several months, and maybe I just don’t know the right people but the community doesn’t seem as strong as it once was.

Does anyone have good recommendations for a non-#Electron, non-browser #codeEditor on Windows? I have a #SublimeText license, but I'm curious if there's a nicer solution out there; most are Electron and Monaco. I happily use #PanicNova on my laptop for #programming, but want something for my desktop, too.

JetBrains Fleet looks cool, but it's subscription only. Not to say I won't pay for software — I re-up my Nova, Sketch, and Affinity suite — but strongly prefer pay-to-upgrade over pay-to-use.

Is there any other alternatives to #replit?

As it seems like they just gonna nerf the paid plan by giving you less. But you end up paying more if you want the same features.

I use Replit as an #codeeditor and #IDE as it allows me to code and learn stuff in multiple different languages. HTML/css, python, Go which I practice on and C++ I do random shit on. It's kinda nice to go and click run to check if it does what it supposed to do. Instead of looking at text and guessing it runs correctly

What's your favorite #CodeEditor? I've used Komodo Edit for years but it's now effectively defunct, at least for Mac. I like that it automatically highlighted errors as you typed, which most others seem not to do. And I need something that works for #Perl, because I'm old.
