Seit Wochen bereite ich einen Deploy vor, damit sollen einige Berechnungen in einem System automatisiert werden, Vorgehensweise, Formeln, alles war besprochen.
Heute tauchte dann eine geheimnisvolle Excel-Tabelle auf. Eine die nur durch einen Blutschwur von MitarbeiterIn zu MitarbeiterIn weitergereicht wurde, gebunden an den Eid niemals ihr Geheimnis zu offenbaren.

Etwas was für mich verdeutlicht das #Digitalisierung in Projekten dann nur eine Vage Vorstellung ist.
Wenn die Website nur ein Abbild eines Flyers sein soll, keine Funktionen definiert werden die einen Mehrwert haben und Versand der Flyer und die Website Synchrone sein sollen.
Was Websites aber nach wie vor können ist aber zu wachsen, neu definiert und erweitert werden. Es lässt mich schon verzweifeln, das dies nach wie vor meine Arbeit ist, das zu kommunizieren.

Managed-Server erhält ein umfangreiches Update die nächstes Wochen, schaue alles durch, mache mir Listen um die Software entsprechend zu Aktualisieren. Da es ein Leagcy System fühlt es sich entsprechend an, wenn ich so fröhlich durch die Verzeichnisse schlendere.
Denke mir noch, wird ein zeitlich Anspruchsvoller Tag und dann sehe ich das eines der Frameworks mit dem ich Arbeite gefühlt über Nacht einfach mal einen Versionssprung hatte mit Breaking Changes... das wird ein Grandioser Tag! 😅

Für die Automation von Berechnungen schickt mir eine Kunde Ergebnisse zum kontrollieren, Rätsel seit zwei Tagen herum warum die Berechnungen bei mir abweichen.
Stellt sich raus die Ergebnisse vom Kunden werden in einer Excel-Liste erstellt die mit Zahlen angereichert die es nie ins System schaffen.

Ist auch irgendwie ungünstig und stellt ein völlig anderes Problem da, wen der Raspberry Zero der für die Decken-Lampe zuständig ist, im Lokalen Netzwerk einfach nicht erreichbar sein will.

Ich könnte natürlich in Panik verfallen nachdem was mir gerade einer meiner Kunden mitgeteilt hat.
Stattdessen mache ich mir Kaffee, kaufe die teuersten Kekse die ich finden kann und setzte mich an die Weser und lese ein Comic.

Seit einer Woche warte ich auf ein Rückmeldung vom Head of IT, ich kann zwar Kommandozeilen, denke mir aber das Leute die das tagtäglich machen darin geübter sind.
Habe jetzt 5 Minuten herumprobiert, Lösung gefunden und Frage mich was der jetzt eine Woche lang gemacht hat 🤷♂️
Finde das schon schwierig einen Fragenkatalog für eine Anwendung zu erstellen wen ich die Kunden:innen, also Kunden:innen einer Agentur, nicht kenne und die eine Ultra-Konkrete Vorstellung haben, aber sich über das eigentliche Ziel und die Sinnhaftigkeit scheinbar gar keine Gedanken gemacht haben.
Es ist ein sehr abgefahrener Preiskalkulator wo schon die Frage entsteht ob die Zielgruppe überhaupt das Wissen hat den zu bedienen... 🤔

Mich vor einigen Tagen mit einer Webentwicklerin unterhalten, wir sprachen über Masonrys und das immer noch keine Native Unterstützung für display: grid gibt und Javascript gestützte meist etwas lahm sind.
Ließ mich dann doch nicht los, und habe einen Proof of Concept erstellt um das Problem besser zu verstehen.
Dabei display: grid mit einem offset für die position genutzt.

My TwoStick shooter works great with a joypad but unfortunately keyboard ghosting means finding 8 keys that don't interfere with each other is hard.
So today I changed it to use keyboard and mouse but still keep the 8-way firing style. I think it's worked out pretty well. I've also implemented a few other features such as level portals, bonus points for jumping levels, balanced the firepower and NPC spawn rates a little more.
Quite happy with where this is heading, but now I need to think of some new features to add and maybe start building out some more levels.

I made some changes to my TwoSticks shooter yesterday to implement a mechanism for the player to choose when they jump to the next level rather than it being automatic based on score. Most of the changes were good but it really unbalanced the gameplay and I couldn't at the time see a way around it.
Today, the addition of a single variable and changing one evaluation rebalanced the gameplay. Such is the way coding often works when you walk away from it for a bit.

Nerfed the player weapon starting speed and added powerups.
Randomise spawn locations for NPCs, health, and powerups every 30 seconds.
Added a second level layout.
Made level layout switch out every 1000 points (which also forces a new randomisation of spawners) and, of course, this speeds up as the NPC spawn rate increases and player weapon speed increases.
Added particles when bullets hit walls.
