[The Jet Press] I can’t remember the last time I soured on a Jets OC as quickly as I have Hackett. This dude is bad. He’s a bad OC. Sunday’s pass-block gameplan was egregious and all we’re hearing is tired gameflow excuses. https://www.rawchili.com/3076580/
[Roark] According to NFL Next Gen Stats: Broncos Rookie WR Marvin Mims reached 20+ mph on 3 of his 4 touches in the 1st half on Sunday, becoming just the 3rd player to do so in a half since 2018. https://www.rawchili.com/3076392/
CLIFF PALACE (1)
Ancestral Puebloans built these sophisticated living and activity structures within massive geologic rock ledges, around 1100 CE - 1300 CE. They farmed the top of the mesa and climbed down to this living area using holes carved out of the rock, not needing to go to ground level hundreds of feet below.
This is the first of a continuing Thursday series...More pics and more surprising history. all will be in replies to this post.
Vic Fangio said Thursday that he doesn’t have any desire to get “revenge” on Denver: “I really don’t. Every game we play in this league is equally important. I enjoyed my time there. There’s still about 15 or 16 players still there and I wish them the best — except this week.” https://www.rawchili.com/3076206/
Ghost Peak (2022)
Applying a black and white edit to this image of a peak disappearing into the clouds near Silverton, Colorado, reminiscent of Ilford Delta 100 film, really adds to the ghostly feel.

Ima go ride to celebrate! How about you?
🍺 BA Adds a Few New Twists to GABF 2023 - The 2023 @great American Beer Festival kicks-off today with over 2,000 beers from nearly 500 breweries being poured at the Colorado Convention Center along with a couple of new twists being introduced by the @Brewers Association this year...
I am revisiting images I captured on one of my favorite days of photography exploring the mountains around Silverton, Colorado, during the autumn of 2022. The fall color change, moody clouds, and mountain tops covered with a fresh dusting of early-season snow were cathartic for me. And continues to be every time I dig back into these archives.

Today in Labor History September 21, 1896: The militia was sent to Leadville, Colorado, to bust a miners’ strike. Police and soldiers killed at least six miners during the 9-month strike. Leadville was a leading mining community during the latter half of the 19th century due to its rich silver deposits. At the time, Colorado’s statewide mining mortality rate was 6 deaths per thousand miners each year. So, just in Leadville, at least six miners were dying each year. The amazing mineral wealth of Colorado turned it into the nation’s main mining region, and contributed to of families like the Guggenheims. The Western Federation of Miners led the strike against mines, which were paying wages of less than $3/day. The union broke with the conservative American Federation of Labor after they lost the strike, and turned toward a more revolutionary socialism.
Hey I ordered a fan box and they sent the wrong team, but is there some unknown slogan I’m missing with Red in Orange? https://www.rawchili.com/3075195/
One of the local Wireless #Internet Service Providers, #WISP, is overstating their service as 100/20. This is really annoying as it messes up all the #FCC and state #broadband maps. In reality, everyone is lucky to get 25/3 with them and given the terrain in #Colorado, like where I live, service is not even possible due to line of sight.
I want #fiber!
Some states — #Colorado, #Montana, #NewMexico, #Washington and #Wyoming — rolled back 50 percent or more of their progress since 2000. In #Oregon and #Nevada, wildfire smoke has completely erased their gains....
a single day of unhealthy smoke — in the “red” level on the federal government’s color-coded scale — gave the hospitals he was studying in central Oregon a 41 percent chance of exceeding their capacity....
University of Montana toxicologist Christopher Migliaccio tracked residents who lived through that smoke and found they showed significant decreased lung function one and two years afterward..."
@glightly I am angry for and with you. Here in #Boulder #Colorado - also a liberal college town, pro-climate, pro-environment, supposedly 'bike friendly'. Few racks, if they exist are awful, also doling out public space to for-profit corps (just expanded Lime, great for visiting students and tourists, crap for us townies).
I feel your pain. It can be truly infuriating
Forced Labor Continues in #Colorado, Years After Vote to End #Prison #Slavery
Coloradans voted in 2018 to amend their state constitution to ban forced labor in prison. Years later, incarcerated people are still being punished for refusing work assignments.
At least #LaurenBoebert is providing a little fodder for comedians.
She broke the law of public indecency with her lewd behavior and should be registered as a sex offender!!!!! #LockHerUp
> The fallout from Rep. Lauren #Boebert's humiliating ouster from a #Denver theater after she aggravated fellow playgoers by vaping, dancing in her seat, taking flash pictures and engaging in mutual groping with her date may not be over.
We're about half way thru the chile harvest now. Another big haul of new mex chiles and of drying chiles still out on the plants.
For today, it's an assortment of ancho poblano style chiles soon to become rellenos, some new mex that will go in the relleno sauce, mystery peppers -- they were supposed to be mulato isleno (an ancho poblano style) but look more like passilla / negra chiles so I'm going to dry them, and a few cayennes.

We all agree that #LaurenBoebert giving her current boytoy a handjob during a performance of "Beetlejuice", with children seated literally behind her, while screeching that all queer people, but especially trans people, are "groomers", is the height of hypocrisy, right?
And that above and beyond everything else, she's a traitor and an asshole, right?
So, how about doing something about it?
2/ Looking at the video clip above, the way #Boebert looks back at the pregnant woman who had complained about her vaping while Boebert is getting groped and doing groping is more disturbing than her lewd act in a crowded public theater because she was getting off at looking at the pregnant woman's discomfort at Boebert's behavior... Sexual pleasure at the discomfort of others is predator moves.
If Boebert hadn't have lied about breaking the rules of why she was thrown out of the Beetlejuice theater performance, the theater wouldn't have had to pull the receipts and the entire world wouldn't have known that the US CongressPerson does lewd acts in public theaters.
Mt Evans is now Mt Blue Sky!
I wrote this on the day the ballot initiative won…
I have ethical concerns about wolf introduction in #Colorado.
We live in a secluded valley backing up to wilderness with healthy herds of domestic and wild game animals.
Wolves are an apex predator. They will flourish and multiply here.
Sadly, then we will have to start hunting and killing wolves to control their numbers.
Where are the humane ethics in that? It seems to me that Wolf Introduction is merely ‘stocking’.
Environmental groups sued the Bureau of Land Management and won, for making their 20 year plan for western #Colorado without consulting with tribes nor accounting for the impact their 20 year plan would have on #ClimateChange.
They rewrote their plan and have two options to choose from. One option, Alternative F, is actually pretty damn good (especially compared to the original)
We have until November 1st to comment and advocate for Alternative F
I blogged about it at https://www.clayton.computer/climate-justice-in-western-colorado/

The beauty of the complaint seeking to prevent #Trump from appearing on the Republican primary ballot in #Colorado is that it cuts to the core of the wrongfulness of Trump’s actions around #January6. He betrayed his oath of office, the precise betrayal the #14thAmendment states makes somebody ineligible to hold federal or state governmental office. 5/
Curious about the specifics of how the #14thAmendment disqualifies #Trump from office or about why this means he ought not appear on the ballot in states that prohibit ineligible candidates from being listed? Read the complaint in the challenge filed in #Colorado. https://www.citizensforethics.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/2023-09-06-08-43-07-Anderson-v-Griswold-Verified-Petition-2023.09.06.pdf 1/ short thread
#Trump has filed for removal... (wait for it)
Trump is being repped by former Colorado secetary of state Scott Gessler. And the case has been assigned to George W. Bush-appointed Judge Philip Brimmer.
Now that it's September I start turning my photography brain to Autumn. A few years ago I headed to Colorado in September and managed to catch peak Aspen color at Maroon Bells. https://rickberk.pixels.com/featured/rocky-mountain-gold-rick-berk.html
