Are there #computerGames with character generators where your choices matter?
I don't mean like picking a race or class, but all the other customizations. (It is really easy to get into racism or eugenics here...leaving aside how much standard "dwarves are diggy" race structures are super racist).
Closest I can think of is PvP ARK players gravitating to min-height women pawns as they have the smallest hit box & so folks think sleight gives them a slight advantage.

Agreed - now I've read all of it.
Seems like it might get messy though - I've heard of lots of cases of Corporations suing mom & pop companies because they used similar trade names even though they might not be operating in the same business and it's obvious that, say for example, the Hoover House Wash Company might not be related to Hoover Inc.
It might all amount to nothing.
But I have no idea.

I fight for the users.
I love programming and thinking and talking about thinking. I have an education (BS, MS, PhD) focused on artificial intelligence and neuroscience.
I'm an advocate of the public academic pursuit of knowledge, the scientific process, peer review, and I see open source software and hardware as an essential part of the scientific process.
I see software user rights, including security and privacy, to be protected mainly by free open source software, specifically software with a copyleft license, i.e. GPL or Mozilla.
I see the democratizing effects of the Internet, including distributed journalism and social networking, to be largely the effect of the collaborative development of free and open source software.
I am interested in free and open source manufacturing, including open source 3D printers and CNC machines. I believe open source manufacturing will be important for distributed manufacturing, allowing local manufacturing and local labor.

I try to eat plant-based / vegan foods to boycott the animal industry, to help with the climate crisis, to improve my health, to avoid animal cruelty, and to avoid the extinction of species of plants, animals and ecosystems.
I have been diagnosed with Retinitus Pigmentosa, which is a disease of progressive retinal degeneration. I am legally blind, although I have about 5-degrees of vision remaining in my fovea. I'm interested in researching and developing BCIs (Brain-Computer Interfaces), specifically BCIs that function as vision prostheses that may help with conditions like RP, or the more common degenerative retinal disease AMD (Age-related Macular Degeneration).
I enjoy playing computer games like Age of Empires and Rimworld. I used to program computer games when I was younger and would like to get back to it one day.
I love playing music, especially bass guitar. I've been listening to a lot of Rage Against the Machine and Enya recently.
I enjoy reading books, mostly non-fiction.
I enjoy studying religions. I've found a lot of value in Buddhism, and I meditate often daily.

I'm currently playing #Level9 #interactiveFiction #textAdventure game Knight Orc from 1987. Which feels almost like a #MUD with many autonomous NPCs running around, fighting and grabbing treasure! And has some very unusual command shortcuts, as shown in the image of part of the manual. A very intriguing game. Which can get into unwinnable states, like Melbourne House's The Hobbit. Ran the campaign with a new #bloodbowl Dark Elf team (I never play elves, so figured my total lack of knowledge might give the AI a chance).

Edit: to clarify, we're looking for games where the designers specifically included/embedded a way for kids to learn SEL skills, rather than it happening randomly/organically, or by accident.

Now I’ve nearly cleared my backlog. Only 2 unread articles in Pocket now. An #ArsTechnica history of #roguelike #ComputerGames. And an in depth look at #Infocom ’s Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy #InteractiveFiction #textadventure. Good articles to have saved to last! I hope to keep my future unread count fairly low.

Had a rough time at 4 Guys Co-op last night, as we battled bad Internet connections and game crashes instead of giant crocodiles in Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris. If someone drops from the game, it makes you start the level over, which is very annoying. But we did get one more temple done anyway. And I had to deliver a foster kitty before that, so no boardgaming to start the evening. #videogames #computergames
Instead of D:OS2, I talked Chris into checking out the demo of Code Vein, an anime looking action JRPG in the Dark Souls mode I think. It is on sale for 85% and has some kind of co-op, although in the demo it appeared to be a Dark Souls kind of co-op, where you can "call" for help, but the other player is basically just along for the ride and doesn't really get all the loot. Probably not for us and it was pretty weird to get into, but it was a fun time. #computergames #videogames #crpg #today

So the 4 Guys Co-op finally got back together again last night to play Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris. Due to scheduling conflicts and illness, it has probably been at least a month since we played. It's a really fun time. The puzzles can be pretty tricky and the action can be a little too hectic but we sure have some laughs. I need to get a couple more game play videos up. I recommend both games in the series. #videogames #computergames

Fought with connecting for 30 minutes, wandered aimlessly around the annoying Nameless Isle for too long, then stumbled into a big battle we ended up winning but just barely. C is a "look up all the right answers" #cRPG player, while I am a "just stumble along and see what happens" player. But we make a good team. I push him to just get moving along, while he pushes me to actually finish a game! #videogames #computergames

I played the witcher 3 next gen upgrade on #ps5 with ray tracing today for a couple of hours.
Graphics do look next gen.
Especially vegetation rendering has improved.
LOD distance has been increased.
Global Illumination looks great especially indoors.
Real value is to play with ray tracing on 30fps.
Performance on 30fps is fine providing the visuals really make a difference.
