I seem to have exponentially less need for interaction with other people than is statistically average. I do like #people and spending time with people but I also have a huge amount of desire for #knowledge consumption and #creation. This means, unless I am constrained by circumstances (e.g. being in a meeting) I'm nearly never #bored. If I am, I take a nap or watch a movie or play a game.

This can make me difficult as others will want to spend significantly more #time than I'm ready to give.

I'm a #Creationist, but I don't believe humans and dinosaurs ever co-existed on this planet.

I'm also not entirely sure that "the beginning" described in Gensis 1:1 was the very very VERY beginning. For one thing, the Fall of Lucifer appears to have already happened by then (and as Jesus said much later, He personally witnessed him falling from Heaven like a bolt of lightning). And even before that, Lucifer and the other Angels were created somehow, and that's not recorded in the Bible either.

So it's entirely possible that the Bible as we know it begins some time after the Extinction Event that wiped out the dinosaurs. The universe (or multiverse, if you prefer) already existed, but the Earth had recently been destroyed and was about to be recreated, with humans as the new custodians.

It's tricky; antediluvian history is full of metaphor, analogy, and allegory. After the flood, things get a little more concrete. :-)

Good stuff. I agree that we need to stop assuming that the #universe was created ex-nihilo with #time. There are many other options on the table with far fewer logical problems attached to them. For me, the #BigBang makes more sense as a transient event in the history of an #eternal #cosmos.

To be fair, #Hawking's conception of time was not simplistically unilinear but nevertheless still played the Judeo-Christian game of explaining #creation.

#Peaceful #morning to you all. Since I'm new to this server, I'll give a little more detail than normal. I've been taking photos of the sunrise for several years. So, every day I post one with my morning #mantra:

"I am #thankful that I have lived to see another #sunrise and I will use this #miracle to help everyone I come in contact with #today."

This phrase helps me to remember that I didn't HAVE to wake up. I've known far too many people who, for no known reason at the time, simply went to bed and died. One day, it will be the last sunrise you ever see and you won't even know it.

So, remember that you are a miracle of #creation. As a #taoist teacher once taught me, you are the #universe speaking back to its self. A manisfistation of the universe that, from dust and heat, came living breathing thinking creatures that could then look at where we came from and be #greatful.
