Cyndi Lauper's debut album, "She's So Unusual," came out 40 years ago tomorrow (Oct. 14). It had nine tracks including "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" and "Time After Time." On this day in 1981, Prince opened a show for The Rolling Stones in Los Angeles. He got booed off the stage. The Stones recognized Prince as a rising talent but when he opened up his trench coat and revealed bikini briefs the crowd became unruly. Prince never performed as an opening act again.

When in my tween years - preferred #CyndiLauper over #Madonna . I've always loved Cyndi's creativity, quirkiness & funky personal fashion style. I thought Cyndi was more her own boss & more in control of her own work. I saw Madonna as someone fully shaped by music industry to sell more records, by using sexuality as a lure.
The lyrics describe two people that can't keep the same pace within their relationship although love still exists between them, and is reaffirmed on the lines "If you're lost you can look and you will find me, if you fall, I will catch you I will be waiting."
