61. Sandman. Preludios y nocturnos (Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, Mike Dringenberg). Posiblemente una de mis mayores carencias como lector de cómics a la que por fin he empezado a poner remedio en parte gracias a la comodidad de irlo comprando poco a poco en esta nueva edición de bolsillo. Edición que dista de ser perfecta no tanto por tamaño sino porque el papel me ha resultado demasiado brillante y se hace difícil encontrar la cantidad exacta de luz para leer cómodamente. Cuando te enfrentas a un clásico como este siempre tienes un pequeño miedo de haber puesto unas expectativas demasiado altas que tal vez no se cumplan. Pero no es el caso. Sandman hace honor a su fama. Es una historia maravillosa, hipnótica y a ratos verdaderamente aterradora. Una obra maestra del cómic que en parte me arrepiento de no haber leído antes, pero por otra me alegro de haberlo hecho con tanto bagaje como lector porque eso seguramente haya hecho que la disfrute todavía más.

Those simple, reliable AC motors generally only run at one speed. They have no easy way to run them "#high" and "#low" like this.

When I replaced the furnace in my previous house, the new one had what was fairly new furnace technology at the time - its blower motor was a #DC motor. I think it was a permanent-magnet brushless motor, though I can't swear to that.

Such #brushless motors are everywhere these days. Cheap computer fans use them; better cordless tools use them, etc.

Rewatching #Batman: The Animated Series. I forgot how honestly amazing this show is. I am not really a big #DC fan but have always enjoyed Batman and his stand alone stories. Also I have to say I am surprised how much of Harley Quinn’s current character is derived straight from the series (and I know this series invented her character, but the issues with her relationship with the joker and how she is more then just a sidekick are set up earlier then I expected)

Just watched #bluebeetle and compared to other recent #dc efforts I thought it was actually pretty good, especially seeing as it wasn’t bogged down with questionable continuity from past films and manages to stand on its own. It’s fun with plenty of action and humour, the only negatives I would say is that the editing seemed a bit haphazard and pacing feels off in some places, but overall it didn’t affect the flow too much. I’d say it’s worth a watch. #movies #cinema #film

Yesterday @NarrelleMHarris and I finally finished reading the Flashpoint Beyond series in the DC Universe Infinite app - which is set in an alternate reality in which Thomas Wayne (Bruce's father) becomes the Batman after the young Bruce is murdered instead in that alley.

Great story, with lots of twists, and some memorable covers too.

No one ever called Otto Binder #BOTD (1911-1974) lazy.

Writer of the Adam Link, Robot series in the pulps which were a huge inspiration to #Asimov and others. Then drifted to comics with long runs at Fawcett and DC and short runs at most others. DC editor E. Nelson Bridwell assessed Binder’s total output at "almost 50,000 pages of comics".
