Bought a cheapo kids #Batman coloring book, sliced it up, and scanned it for doing colors in #Krita.
Experimented with RGBA brushes and quite like how this one came out, given the self-imposed two evening limit. Sometimes it's good to turn the brain off of computers.

While its apparently another box office bomb for #DCComics , I was pleasantly surprised at #BlueBeetle. It's not epic in its ambitions (e.g. the JLA and Avengers flagships of their respective universes) but it does do what I would have hoped: delivered a well plotted, fairly crisp, decently acted popcorn flick, with a few good surprises along the way.

Yesterday @NarrelleMHarris and I finally finished reading the Flashpoint Beyond series in the DC Universe Infinite app - which is set in an alternate reality in which Thomas Wayne (Bruce's father) becomes the Batman after the young Bruce is murdered instead in that alley.
Great story, with lots of twists, and some memorable covers too.
Always felt that the most interesting Batman stories involve a version of the character that in all his darkness and complexity still maintains his compassion and humanity, and whose actions aren't solely driven by vengeance without mercy or remorse. Because no matter how synonymous the word has become with the character or how flawed his ways can sometimes be, Batman isn't out for vengeance. His prime motivation is to protect others from the pain and loss that defined his life, and empathizing, understanding, and making those who battle their own darkness feel less alone is part of it too. It's probably one of the biggest reasons why Kevin Conroy's multifaceted and human depiction of the character is considered so iconic, and why the Batman Animated Series has solidified itself as a classic.

It is important to remember that many of DC Vertigo’s original lineup of comics *were* creator-owned (Preacher, Fables, Y: The Last Man) and while the leadership (and ownership) of the imprint has changed a lot since then those agreements absolutely should be honoured.
If they aren’t then (as Willingham points out) legal action is both costly and time consuming. Time at 67 he doesn’t feel he has to spare. Fair play to him.

One thing in particular I learned from this: It doesn’t sound like Willingham was told about DC licensing Fables to Telltale Games for The Wolf Among Us. While that game may have received positive responses, with Fables being creator owned there is no way that should have been allowed to happen.

People say audiences have Super Hero burnout. I get that, but I think another big part is that audiences are growing tired of half done CGI in super hero movies.

Writer of the Adam Link, Robot series in the pulps which were a huge inspiration to #Asimov and others. Then drifted to comics with long runs at Fawcett and DC and short runs at most others. DC editor E. Nelson Bridwell assessed Binder’s total output at "almost 50,000 pages of comics".
