Im rewriting my demo engine in Turbo C++ (3.0). Learning 16-bit programming.

Im cleaning the code in the process. Will be hard but Im slowly getting there.

It crashes TC but works in DOS... Ill try to fix that first ;)

Did anyone ever do substantial work in Borland Sprint? It seems like a rather capable text editor (customizable keys, auto-save) and pretty decent text layout system.

Heck, as it can generate PostScript, one could even use it today. Might see if I can do a small project with it.

Übrigens habe ich einen Nachteil von #Mastodon gefunden. Wenn es spezielle Server für spezielle Themen gibt, kann man diese gezielt mit #DOS-Attacken angreifen. Bei twitter insgesamt würde das keinen Sinn machen.

A pretty nifty slideshow promo for the DOS version of the lovely Gunship 2000 from MicroProse - one of my most-played flight simulators.

Ported to Amiga and CD32 (even PC-9800!) GS2000 even received a PSX version under the name Gunship, though early reviews often called it Gunship 2000.

Trivia: The Amiga AGA version was bugged on release and missiles would always miss their targets! ;o;

Has since been fixed in Whdload versions.

I've been playing around with FreeDOS in a VM on my Pinetab 2. I started out with QEMU and was able to get things up and running but since the x86 kvm optimizations don't work on arm64, it was slow to start with. Then there was some problem with disk access where the VM would pause after a read sometimes up to a second. So, it could boot but was otherwise unusable. Luckily, I found 86Box and it works great! #freedos #dos #retrocomputing #pinetab2

Trend Micro describes how CVE-2021-45462 (CVSSv3: 7.5 high severity) can cause a denial-of-service (DoS) attack on private 5G networks. he exploit only requires a mobile phone (or a computer connected via a cellular dongle) and a few lines of Python code to abuse the opening and mount this class of attack.
