The music in Tron: Legacy by Daft Punk really helped define the experience for that movie. It would be amazing to apply the same treatment to a Star Wars movie. Bar scenes in places like Mos Eisley Cantina could be elevated to a whole new level. Disney owns Tron and Star Wars, so maybe someone will make this happen at some point. #DaftPunk mixed their first two albums on a JVC #boombox like this. All the standard advice to ‘don’t mix on this or that’ and they used a 10 year old boombox with a simple graphic equalizer.
The lesson: Expensive equipment isn’t necessary; mix on something you use and know well.

Julian Casablancas (The Strokes, The Voidz) says Infinity Repeating is “the last Daft Punk song, ever.” Recorded in 2013 as a demo, it was left unpublished until its inclusion in the recent 10th-anniversary edition of Random Access Memories.
The video is a highly addictive masterpiece. Digging into the comments on YouTube, I learned that Thomas Bangalter said that his fear of artificial intelligence was a factor in why the group split in 2021.

Just FYI, the #TronLegacy soundtrack still holds up as a #programming #music soundtrack all these years later. I love #DaftPunk so much.
I never listened to Daft Punk before I got this record, but am I glad I did... It was certainly on the pricey side of things, but it was worth every penny.
The music on here, although far removed from what I usually listen to, is brimming with quality, depth and emotion I don't usually look for in electronic music.
The mastering is also quite astonishing. It's by far the best sounding vinyl record I own.
