Been playing a lot of #deadcells lately, I'm really enjoying the gameplay and all the silly references.
i've been playing #DeadCells recently and I'm quite surprised at how well I manage to do. I unlocked hard mode, and it isn't even kicking my ass that badly! (First try at hard mode, I just reached the Derelict Distillery for the first time.)

For those pesky players, like myself, who enter the Options menu before clicking New Game, game devs should add nonsense settings like "Sound: Dragon volume slider" in a car racer, "Enter zombie mode [Shift-Z]" in a city builder, or "[x] Skip satanistic dialog lines" in a cozy sim.

Cannot think of too many examples, tbh, except #DeadCells (won’t spoil here, maybe in a reply). And #SeaOfStars (when breaking the 4th wall).
@antoniav This would be #deadcells for me. Every time I pick it up, I can decide how much I'll get invested in this session... will I try to actively progress further or just empty my mind and let the muscle memory work. Furthermore, as it's a rouge-lite, dying and starting anew are an essential part of the gameplay loop, so there is no "pressure to succeed", it doesn't matter if I fail as I can and will try again and again and again. Hope this makes sense!
I rarely go back to a game and reset my progress to play it again. I do it with my favourite titles like soulborn games. But #deadcells in one of those game. It's wonderful. If you haven't played it. Give it a go.

I am also very interested in #Reading, #Writing and more recently #Acting. And been wanting to write some #Fantasy texts. I would be very interested in other #Authors sharing their creative process and ways of #Worldbuildung . Día 9: Un indie que me fascina es #DeadCells, tanto por sus mecánicas #Metroidvania, cómo por su diseño de niveles procedural y dirección artística, tiene un estilo #pixelart delicioso. La única barrera de entrada es su dificultad, tanto así que aún no he podido pasármelo, lo dejé en standby hasta nuevo aviso. Si te gustan los #roguelike, los metroidvania y la dificultad, Dead Cell es un juego que deberías probar, y siempre le están agregando contenido, el último fue de #Castlevania!

Funny how I can bounce right off a game then come back to it later and become completely addicted.
I didn't "get" Dead Cells when I first played it a few years ago, but decided on a whim to give it another chance the other day and it's really gotten its hooks into me.
I seem to remember having no patience to learn its (not all that complex) mechanics. Maybe I was just feeling burnt out and needed something I could pick up with as little brainpower required as possible.

So, the next thing that I showed to my kids (since they really like rouge like games) was #deadcells of course.
I've played it a lot before and not even once noticed a blood stains apeearing here and there. Apparently there is an options to disable it. Found it a little bit late though.

Made it through #DeadCells yesterday.Found the op Vampire Killer on the second run, which carried hard through to the end. But that is the luck of the draw when it comes to Roguelikes. Fun game. You'd have to go through several times on harder loops to see the "true end" anyways

Meant to post the designs earlier while I was working on them, but got too distracted playing #DeadCells xD. So now I just dive into modelling them.
I'm enjoying #DeadCells but it's not scratching that 'Fromsoft itch' in the way I thought it might.
To be honest, I'm actually wondering if #HollowKnight might be slightly more my thing. That's not to say Dead Cells is bad, far from it, I just don't love the 'run' based nature of it, but I've never enjoyed that mechanic in any game.
What are we thinking?

#DeadCells is an incredible #roguelike/#metroidvania with addicting combat and amazing visuals. And whoever came up with this #Castlevania DLC idea deserves a BIG raise.

I mostly play roguelikes, metroidvanias (Hollow Knight my beloved) and monster tamers (i.e. "Pokémon-likes", such as Nexomon, Coromon, Monster Sanctuary,...). These days, I play a lot of Breath of the Wild, Crypt of the Necrodancer, Dead Cells, and 30XX.
