It’s a small nitpick detail, but it drives me nuts that 3rd party devs can’t easily make widgets look translucent like the system widgets for contacts, battery, etc.

Especially the Dutch 'pavilion'/room. An 'ever-changing' site-specific 'series of ambiguous fragments', this is an installation waiting to be disolved and redistributed throughout the biennale's Somerset House venue. The idea is 'to support moments of gathering, assembly and reflection among other participants'.
And Automorph Network. Here the materials used are, through their heterogeneity and ability to self-shape, treated as active participants in the process of designing not just a future material culture, but new relations with the planet.
Design may be, as the catalogue says, one of the most collaborative of fields. Still, seeing this biennale does leave the impression the humanities are lagging behind somewhat when it comes to collaboration and to incorporating materials as active participants in our own ways of working.

As I ponder why streaming sucks as a user experience, I am struck by just how limited the UI is, for all of them. The only use case is not “open app, pick algorithm-recommended show.” There’s value in old school, linear, channel surfing. It’s not either/or. These apps could do both.
