I’m trying to watch #Touch on #disneyplus. There’s a lot of foreign language content with no subtitles. If I turn on English subtitles, I get (speaking Japanese) or (speaking Arabic) rather than the dialogue. This makes the show completely unwatchable as I can’t understand major characters’ storylines.
I’ve scoured the internet and Disney’s help pages and see a lot of people are having the same problem, but cannot find a solution.

I watched #Loki on #DisneyPlus in two separate three episode binges Saturday and Monday nights and, for me, it's among the best work and storytelling #Marvel has done across all of the #MCU.
The last episode is a perfect culmination of the storyline begun in the first season, and though it leaves some things open, it also answers so much, so well.
It may not appeal to those who are best satisfied with flash, sound, and frenetic action, but for deep character development, it does a great job.

Disney is raising its Disney+ Hotstar subscription price in Indonesia from Rp199k a year to 799k starting next month and will call it the Premium plan. Monthly subs go up from 39k to 119k. Disney also introduced a lower cost “Basic” plan at 450k/annum or 65k/month. The difference? Picture quality, device logins, and concurrent screens. I heard they’re also raising prices in Malaysia and Thailand.
The service launched three years ago in Indonesia with the shockingly low price of, which in USD was (and still is), US$13 a year. At the time that was almost two months worth of subs in the US.
The current pricing plan is, honestly speaking, far too low to be sustainable. It really feels like introductory and we’ve been extremely lucky to have had it beyond the first year so I can understand why they felt the need to hike the price.
The monthly sub for Premium is much higher than Lionsgate, Catchplay, Prime, HBO GO, or Viu but comparable to Netflix’s standard plan, though Netflix has no annual plan which makes it more expensive over a year.
The way they went about announcing it could have been handled better, though. I wish they outright said at the beginning that it was introductory pricing so that when they announce the real cost there wouldn’t have been so much consumer backlash.
The up to 4x hike is quite a shock to consumers. Initially the app was very basic. It appeared to be similar to the global version but while the global one has profiles, group watch, and other features, the SEA version did not. Only in the last couple of months did we get additional profiles other than Kids mode and a revamped interface to match the global version. We still don’t have group watch or IMAX mode.
It is what it is and Disney must have crunched the numbers to be confident that despite the backlash, the new pricing plan will work out for them financially and they’ll have enough subscribers left to justify the hike.

Watched #Ahsoka last night. It's certainly not a show for casual viewers as it requires a lot of context from #Rebels and #clonewars
Still, the two-episode premiere was absolutely fantastic. I would LOVE an entire show focused on the #NightSisters of #Dathomir. I can't get enough of those creepy space witches.
Also, that end credits sequence and music is absolutely EPIC. Inject it into my veins!
Absolutely gutted to inform you that the #StarWars #Ahsoka show is kind of meh. Don't get me wrong, the plot, the casting, and the effects are all wonderful. It's got a lot of potential, but the 1-2 second gaps of silence between each character's dialogue make the show darn near unwatchable. They are in dire need of a sneaky edit job to clean up the pacing of all this dialogue.

For context, in November of 2022, I paid $80 for my annual plan with no ads. Then in December, Disney raised the annual plan to $110 per year. Now in October of 2023, the annual plan is raised to $140 per year.
So that means #Disney raised my annual subscription twice in my billing cycle to go from $80 per year to $140 per year. Almost a 60% price increase. No thanks, Bob Iger.
