Superbe match, deux équipes puissantes, l'Écosse était supérieure aujourd'hui ! #A7Radio ! 😎
#ViewFromABus : rain-washed window view from top deck as I head home from book event. Headphones on, the Blade Runner soundtrack by Vangelis is still one of the best to listen to when moving through the city at night...
The tall trees by Christ Church still proudly wear their lofty, leafy, verdant crown of summer, but like grey strands appearing in a person's hair, the first, few copper leaves have made their appearance.
Late summer on stage, Lady Autumn waits patiently in the wings.

I do wish these numpties would leave poor Nessie alone, she's a very private monster and likes her own space https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-66614935
"Scotland could become one of the first countries to establish a specific crime for mass environmental destruction as championed by late Scots barrister Polly Higgins."

Went to Royal Mile to take #Fringe pics, but between poor light quality for taking photos, and remarkably few performers doing their thing, I didn't take many. Very sparse compared to pre-Covid Fringe on the Mile.
#svt #géologie #écosse mais pourquoi est ce que je ne peux pas être là bas en septembre ! https://www.scottishgeologytrust.org/event/pebbles-on-the-beach-gairloch/
"Got to keep my eyes from the circling skies..." 🎵
#Bruntsfield this rather splendid evening, looking up the tall spire of Christ Church to blue skies and drifting, white clouds.
Edit (merci @david_weber ) : Le groupe aurait suivi sur la plage une une femelle qui a eu des problèmes à mettre bas. Les 15 survivants n'ont pas pu être remis à l'eau et ont été euthanasiés.
Cafe closing, and no desire to go home yet. We seem to be between the unpredictable rain showers, so risking stroll by the old boathouse on Union Canal (do have the trusty John Steed brolly just in case)
Modern extension of the Museum of Scotland catching the evening light as earlier grey clouds depart. That roof terrace garden atop the white structure offers fabulous views across #Edinburgh , should you be paying a visit.
Glowering skies on walk to medical appointment, somewhat mirroring my mood. Yet pause on #Bruntsfield Links & even on a grey day treated to views of the lofty spire of Barclay Viewforth Church, #Edinburgh Castle rising above the nearby tenements, & the vast, geologic bulk of the extinct volcano that forms Arthur's Seat .
Off out shortly for weekend of #ScienceFiction fun at @cymerafestival , two and a bit days of excellent authors in the Pleasance and hopefully catching up with some old chums. I'll also be onstage on the Sunday chairing an event with Mike Carey, Ever Dundas & Dave Cook.
Noticed my daily Flickr views were way up on average today, turns out one of my pics went into Flickr Explore, of pics chosen from the global pool https://www.flickr.com/photos/woolamaloo_gazette/52903637453
That's the 14th I've had chosen for Explore over the years, rather chuffed!
I've always been aware of this history, as the town I grew up, on the edge of Glasgow, was a major fort on the Antonine Wall. Got young me interested in history, learning that it didn't all happen "far away", but also on my doorstep.

Naturally I paid my respects to Desperate Dan and Minnie the Minx while in #Dundee . I was fortunate enough to be friends with Minnie's dad, Leo, so I had to introduce myself to her.
I miss swapping emails with Leo. He'd be delighted his Amazonian warrior girl lives on.
