Here's a little ditty that might interest a few folks out here in the Wild, Wild, #Fediverse...
It's a Brave Search add on for your browser of choice - i.e., #Vivaldi, #Chromium, #Firefox, #Edge, #Brave, #Opera, and more (oddly enough, I didn't see #Kiwi on the list).
It's called #BraveGPT and after installing it whenever you choose to use #Brave_Search it includes a sidebar with your search results from #ChatGPT along with the regular #SERPs you expect.

@nickbailey I’ve been running #Edge on #Linux for ages. Mainly because its the browser I least dislike 😀, and it works just fine, is pretty fast, integrates well, and I know my way around in it.
Yes I know I’m being tracked, but most other browsers do that too…

Para usarla tienes que registrarte con tu cuenta microsoft, o asociar alguna que tengas a sus servidores. No funciona la VPN, al menos la que yo uso que es Mullvad, ni orientándola a un país u otro, hay que desactivarla.
La IA está muy verde, no se puede mantener una conversación, es un buscador 'inteligente'.
Luego probé el creador de imágenes, no está mal, pero se nota que está en beta. La traducción la realizó el chat de Bing.

I test #microsoft #edge and #bing, it is full off buttons so it is hard to know what all do, and the "Reward" system sounds like a crypto scam, and it is like Facebook that made it so hard to turn off some functions in any other way than not use Edge and Bing. AI may be fun, but you burn your privacy on the stake by use it online as it looks like now, and the company "Open" AI is one of the most closed companies out there that do not say what info they collect and they collect info to train AI.

Firstly, it doesn't open my default browser, as any other link on my computer does, it opens #Edge
Secondly, the search isn't even correct in regards with the query and none of the results are even relevant to a the fast-startup option?
Nice Microsoft, you can't even search your own features on your own operating system in your own browser. Now you want me to downgrade to #Windows11 and use your #AI?

This is constantly showing in my "Control Panel" on #Windows10 because I don't use #Edge. Truly pathetic and embarrassing.
@fossrob @jorge A default RHEL RPM OSTree image would be interesting, but I feel a bit unlikely. These kinds of images have very specific deployment cases, and Red Hat would rather leave that up to the customer to decide. This is what #RHEL for #edge is.
That being said, you can take advantage of this today by creating your own OSTree images for RHEL and derivatives using #ImageBuilder! You can then host the cuts yourself or push them into something like #Foreman to do it for you.
Wieso will Microsoft jetzt auch bei #edge so ein Krypto-Wallet integrieren? Das ist mir schon bei #Brave ziemlich suspekt.

Is there really no way to start a #dchromium browser with all extensions, but not the extension subsystem, disabled, so you can re-enable one by one to find the culprit of a crash? My #edge crashes a few seconds after loading but so far I can only get around it with --disable-extensions, which turns the whole system off ...

Most people I see doing presentations still have the default icons for #Edge and the #MicrosoftStore on their taskbar. With #Cortana still being enabled and the useless massive searchbar.
They don't even remove useless random icons from their taskbar, and then say #Linux is too complicated with weird features.
Some of y'all still use your desktop as a storage folder and don't even use proper file management practices. So using Linux would not change much, but enrich your life and #privacy

The 'in split window' viewing mode in #Microsoft #Edge is really revolutionary for me.
A fixed way to click a link on social media (#Mastodon), read it side-by-side and then comment on it while referring to text.
Handy also that the split window stays open with same ratio if click on further links.
So productive.

@simon I tested this on Bing Chat website and the Edge Canary sidebar Bing. Interestingly enough, the first response was completely different.
Unfortunately #Edge then decided to cut the dialog short after Q2 but #BingChat on the website kept going and provided great answers on linguistics vs. music, astrology vs. cryptography. The final one, psychology vs cooking was a bit lame, though.😁

Goddamnit Microsoft, the promise of ChatGPT on Bing made me switch from Firefox to Edge Dev while I wait for it. And you know what's worst? I'm really liking what they did here, and I don't miss any extensions I need.

I'm using #Brave as my #Chromium #browser, but periodically try alternatives. Everything's bad:
1. #Chrome is still sending your browsing history to Google, by default, a setting that doesn't sync; it's untrustworthy;
2. #Edge is Chrome + Bing + "Acceptable Ads" privacy theater + data sharing w/ all IAB advertisers;
3. #Vivaldi is the Emacs of browsers, extension shortcuts don't work, UI is laggy, has tons of useless settings, while missing good Chrome stuff;

Wow, so the other day I shared what #Microsoft does when you search to download #Firefox from #Edge* but they go one step further for #Chrome.
(I have zero love for either surveillance capitalist but, my goodness, what absolute asshattery. Having spent more time than I’d like testing in #Windows these past two days, I constantly feel like some malevolent entity is trying to exploit me at every turn. Because one is. This OS is a case study in hostile #design.)
