The Roosevelt elks were waiting for me this morning. They were already at my secret spot when I showed up. I wasn't ready so they observed me struggling with the raincover for my telephoto lens. They now know how to put it on, I think one of them even took notes.
I spent about 2 hours with this herd of about 20 cows, yearlings and calves plus the male.

I need to find out how to #baste (the opposite of boost?). It can be done ye olde fashioned way with the reddit clones such as lemmy, which I may be on or can investigate. The other way is through:
- developers using AI?
- #searching (really blocking) for a #minus tag?
- there IS an existing filtering system (sure I have come across)?
- fluffy bunny or only #happy #hippy following (mmm… tried that, always go wrong #somewhere
- turning #off all media for a while. #DUH!

Why would I want to do this, life is a #combine harvesting of good and better yet … True enough but after a moult, #vulnerable mind wipe, I have to consider the effects of even the slightest vibe from the dank/darkly side of the force/farce. Hope that makes sense as we quite often don't …

Spent hours trying to work out how to program the cpld on my #elk open source turbo board (im a noob in cpld programming). installed ise 14.7 (which installed a vm image) and the impact tool sees the device, just dont know where the "program jed" button is arghh!

Boost と Like を分けずに記事単位でリアクションを一覧してくれるのが特に良い…（かつどちらのリアクションかは小さなアイコンで分かるようになってる）

#Elk 🫎 の通知はページをリロードしないと通知表示がおかしくなっちゃうことがあったけど #Phanpy ではそういうバグも今のところなさそう。

#Phanpy 1日使ってみていたけどだいぶよさそう。
たまにタイムラインのレイアウトシフトみたいなのが起きる（画像とか差分ポストの読み込みの問題？）ことがあるけど、それふくめてもそこまで大きく気になる問題はなさそう。
その他にもミュートの期間設定とかもちゃんと出来る。
機能という意味では #Elk より充実してる :tony_normal:

I really wish there was a way for #PWA to open links in the default browser instead of the browser I used to install them with…

#FirefoxFocus doesn't have PWA support (understandably), but one feature I love about native #Mastodon clients is that all the random links I click on *get opened in a privacy respecting browser*.

I still haven't found a native #iOS app that's as good as #Megalodon, so I'm sticking to #Elk and #Phanpy there and yeah… 😅

Has anyone else noticed weird spacing issues using emojis with @elk?
Lately, whenever I use native emoji picker (Android or Windows), it inserts the emoji one character to the left of where I inserted it?
Whereas, if you use the #Elk's picker, it's fine. 🤷

I crossed the bridge and started to write a #greasemonkey script to redirect all #mastodon instances to #elk . But is there somewhere a machine processable instance list? (I know https://instances.social provides an API, but I'm quite reluctant to use an API key for each user, the alternative being to have a github project providing a proxy). So, #lazyweb, is there any text list available on the internet ?

I've been on #Mastodon and in the #Fediverse for a good six months and yet I feel like such a noob still. Curious as to what you might use to make your experience the best it can be? Maybe there's some way you curate your lists or you have the perfect web client or app no one else really uses?

#Mastodon 4.2 になったので 1, 2 週間 Web UI いいじゃーんとおもって使ってたけど、やっぱ #Elk いくと UI としては洗練されてる（っぽく見える）なと思う。

アルファ版だし機能的にはいろいろと難あるところもあるけど、個人的に気になるところは最近のアップデートで改善されてるのでそろそろ #Elk にもどろうかな

#Mozilla の mozilla.social もすごく応援してるけど、本気すぎるがゆえなのか、#X formarly #Twitter とかに対抗するためなのか #Mastodon のデフォルトのあか抜けない Web UI ではなくまだ alpha バージョンの #Elk を組み込んだりしてて、そのせい（じゃないかもしれないけど）で外部サーバー（というか #VivaldiSocial ）からアカウントが見えなかったり、なかなかアカウント招待が進んでないところを見ると、ちょっと目標が高くなりすぎてるというかきれいにやろうとしすぎてて難航してるのかな〜と思ったりする。

wow, #elk has gotten really good. i really like their wellbeing options and the color picking. good stuff!

Notifications for #Elk came through to the website rather than the web app which is a little annoying buuuut it does have a banner and that's really nice to see.

#Elk は Notifications がリロードしないと正しくカウントされなかったり、難がある部分も感じてはいる。#Mastodon にとっては素晴らしいプロダクトなので引き続き応援はしてる。

#Elk のデフォルトのダークテーマもそうだけど、昔のトンネルの中を車で走ってる気分になるな、この色 🚗

ダークモードの配色をなんとなく試していたら図らずも #Elk とか #Ubuntu みたいなカラーリングになってしまった。

暖色のハイライトはちょっと気をつけないとハレーションっぽく見えちゃうな。

あと #Vivaldi のテーマ機能としてハイライトカラーを背景にしたボタンとかの色が白になるか黒になるかはハイライトカラーによって自動で決まるので、そういう都合とのバランスの問題もあったりして、面白いけどむずかしい。

Caveat: There hasn't been a lot of development on #elk lately so I really hope the new search method will be implemented soon.
