Recomiendo hacer lo mismo si habéis pillado todo lo gratis religiosamente en la Epic a lo largo de los años. He reducido una lista de 438(te incluye F2P y programas como discord) a unos 150.
Tengo sagas enteras, juegos de culto, indies muy famosos y buenos. A ver si siguen mejorando el launcher porque antes ni me cargaba, ahora va un poco regulinchi. Recomiendo que hagáis lo mismo, hay muchos juegos que ni sabía que tenía.

Bandcamp as a platform has been so important for the indie music scene. It's been the gateway for numerous smaller artists to get their work out there, and it offered a way of discovering and supporting creators that made it unique.

Not only did they sell the company after a year. They've now laid off half (!) of Bandcamp's staff, #Songtradr hasn't recognized Bandcamp's union, #Bandcamp United, and it appears most of the laid off staff actually were union members, despite Songtradr not having any information on union members.
Unless, of course, Epic gave it to them.
Seriously, screw #EpicGames!
To call #EpicGames selling #Bandcamp to #Songtradr a friggin' mess would be an understatement. This thing has been orchestrated from the very start and is only another proof why Epic has one of the shittiest leaderships in the industry.

From all the layoffs in the games industry in the last few years (including where I work!), I think the ones at Mediatonic hit me the hardest.
In most big layoffs there tends to be a failure or misstep that people can spot and it helps to rationalize things. It’s a consequence, or looks like one at least.
In this case I don’t see anything like that. They made a game which turned out to be a big hit, were bought by Epic, kept it going steady, successfully changed the business model to make it more accessible, had recently released user generated content tools. Doesn’t matter. Still most of them got laid off. It really feels like nobody is safe.

830 people confirmed to be losing their jobs and another 250 leaving the company as Epic is also selling SuperAwesome and Bandcamp.
A ridiculous number of talented people, including folks who worked on Fortnite, Fortnite: Save the World, and Fall Guys are out of work, because according to Epic's CEO, billionaire Tim Sweeney, "for a while now, we've been spending way more money than we earn".
To call this a terrible turn of events on multiple levels would be one massive understatement.

I only use BandCamp as a listener, not an artist, but AFAICT the acquisition by Epic Games was already wrecking it. I've never heard of Songtradr. Why do you think they're likely to wreck it (further)?

Fortnite, the popular video game created by Epic Games, will soon see the introduction of a virtual Holocaust museum.
The “Voices of the Forgotten” Museum will display pictures and articles pertaining to many of the atrocities perpetrated by the Nazis, including Kristallnacht.
The museum’s designer, Luc Bernard, hopes that the museum will provide greater access to Holocaust education.

@pyannakas I think a large part of why it isn't talked about is because small developers know they will just be sued into oblivion if they dare stand up to the existing app store extortion that exists on modern platforms. Even larger platforms like #EpicGames mainly lost. All platforms are basically full on monopolies for anyone that want to build apps and services for them. I know they have value and some apps may want to use them but you shouldn't be forced to.
Not a big fan of this.
This is taking jobs from writers.
The only possible solution is if the writers write every possible thing the AI could say and train the LLM against that.

Instead, I'm going to talk about @bandcampunited, because the #Bandcamp employees are currently trying to form a union.
However, it appears Epic Games's lawyers have been engaging in classic union-busting behavior by delaying the vote.
As an artist who sells music on Bandcamp, I support the union and urge #EpicGames to cut it out and let negotations and a fair vote proceed.
