I know I keep making jokes about how long ARR is, but the truth is I’m having a lot of fun leveling my EU alt and even coming up with a story about how him and my NA main interact with each other.
But I’m still getting that ARR skip once I get baseline ARR complete because CT can go kick rocks. (also post ARR MSQ is soooooo long)

Oh, hey a year ago I was crying my eyes out for the second time as Namhla finished up Endwalker.
Doing the LTW questline has made me feel simultaneously good and bad about leather products in society. I recognize that if we let an animal's pelt go to waste, it literally is wasteful of the whole life that was naturally (or unnaturally) taken. On the reverse side of this coin however, If demand or desire of these products increases so too does the potential death toll.
Tough stuff.

Deed is finally done. My house is finished.
[Fixed] The interactive bits of this #FFXIV guide are currently working. I may need to move the code to separate files tomorrow if it kicks off again, but the drop-down box filters are functioning my end.
I needed my own guide as I've just switched GCs and wanted the reminder of the first few ranks. Hence spotting something awry! 🤦♂️
Off to try and sleep now.
It's too bad I hate Emmanellain too much to fully enjoy the cutscenes, kept wanting Sicard to punch him every time he opened his mouth. 😅 Honoroit is wasted. I wish the Cirina/Sadu appearance was switched with this, would much rather have a lengthy visit with them as a finale. Oh well.

For somebody that has tank anxiety, I have to say it was super fun tanking that variant dungeon for the very first time. Kinda exciting! Tho, truth be told, it did help that I was with friends and I knew I was in a safe space. ❤️
After a frustrating and disastrous attempt at P10S on Wednesday, the stars aligned and we did a one-pull clear today (with thanks to a SMN from PF).
Woooooo.
In P11S prog, we started making it convincingly to Lightstream at the end there, which is one step further than before. #FFXIV

I’d say it aged extremely well.
Well this is a first for me. I got harassed in an online game I wasn’t even playing!
Sam was playing #ffxiv and other players were telling wholesome jokes/puns in chat
But the minute he mentioned my existence (like “haha my wife said this”), the very next joke was at my expense as a woman
Some jerk took a nice moment when we were all having fun and ruined it to MAKE SURE I KNEW i wasn’t welcome
And to top it off, it was a stupid “make me a sandwich” joke, as if it’s still 2003. Fuck off.
Now I see why my friends were worried I wouldn't make it through ARR when I first started a few years ago. But when you're doing it all for the first time, you don't even really notice. Or I didn't, at least. I loved everything.
But now having to redo it... Oh yeah. I feel it!

After a run with friends, it's nice to just hang out at Don's and chat. Especially after a Prae run. Not that it's a hard dungeon... you just have to sit through a lot of nonsense from Nero and Gaius, (and also a missing Cid barking orders at you and telling you that you're too bloody useful to die while he's sipping margaritas on an island somewhere).

I think the break from doing Prae runs served me well. I was far less sloppy with Gaius at the end. Everybody did great. One of the smoothest Prae runs I've done in a while!

I've been thinking about this specifically in reference to my #FFXIV experience. The big twist at the end of ARR is very out-of-left-field, even though it's telegraphed pretty explicitly. OTOH, the twists for Heavensward and Shadowbringers especially, I saw coming a mile away, because I had been trained to "look for the twist."
I finally made it to Stormblood #FFXIV but damn I am a little burnt out. Time to take a break and try alt jobs, fish and maybe play some other games.

Hello! I've been coming out of my shell and been doing just fine! I'm a #genderfluid #nonbinary software dev that likes #spooky stuff and dangerous machines.
I am a proponent of #FOSS (but not rabid about it) and like digging into the mechanisms behind code.
I enjoy playing games that are puzzles, simulations, base-building games, and RPGs (especially #ffxiv).
Even though I don't post about it as much, I also really like sound design, especially how it can be used to influence our state of mind!
I hope to continue to discover so many more new and interesting people and things here!
For a decade, I had a side hustle writing about games. For money. I travelled across Europe for it, and had incredible experiences.
But it was still a 2nd job, on top of my main job. And because I mostly wrote about #MMORPGs, that meant I usually had a third job in-game grinding away with whatever busywork was needed.
My son was born four years ago, and the last event I covered was the #FFXIV FanFest in Paris.
And then we had the Covid pandemic. And I’ve barely played a video game since.
A quick quiet moment of respite after a very long week.

If anyone on Chaos has some Verdant Partitions burning holes in their pockets and doesn't want/need the tasty money from selling them on the marketboard, I currently need probably 5-6 and cannot for the life of me get them to drop from Saint Moccianne's (hard version). So... let me know??
I know, it's a long shot, but you never know. 😆 I just got a medium house and I'm trying so hard to make it pretty on a budget.
So there's a notorious fish in #FFXIV. It's available to catch less than 0.1% of the time due to its pairing of weather/time requirements. So, 99.9% of the time, you straight-up can't catch it. And when you can, it's in a window of a minute and a half at a time. _And_, being a Big Fish, there's a baseline chance (30% I think?) for it to get away, no matter what you do. It's infamous.
...and I just caught it first try.
