"I had walked past this #fox street art a number of times and knew there were foxes in the area. I waited it out one evening and after a while, one of the foxes came by. It stopped briefly right by the artwork, appeared to look at it and I managed to get a photo. It then carried on its way. It really felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity!"

@panther_modern To be fair, that section seems much more (still not very much, but yet much more) reasonable in the context of the previous parts of the document that argue at length (maybe wrongly, but AFAICT not completely implausibly) that use for model training is #fairUse.
Though if model training was fair use, same should apply for all non-"AI"-created #mashUps, too, I'd think. And morally it'd only be fair if the models trained that way would themselves be made public and freely licensed

This is canonical #FairUse, the kind of copying that almost always involves overriding the objections of the site's proprietor. Not all adversarial scraping is good, but this sure is.
There's an argument that scraping the news-sites without permission might piss them off, but it doesn't bring them any real harm. But even when scraping harms the scrapee, it is sometimes legitimate - and necessary.

Linkletter argued that linking to a video that shows that Proctorio's assurances to parents and students about its products' benign nature were contradicted by the way it talked to educators was fair dealing. Fair dealing is a broad suite of limitations and exceptions to copyright for the purposes of commentary, criticism, study, satire, etc.
