I love this purple variety of Clematis with such big blooms. The rock wall around my pond was enhanced with this beautiful vining Clematis and purple Campanula flowers. Clematis vines are not just gorgeous they are versatile and can climb an arbor or drape rock walls or fences.

Even though they’re the most common falcon in North America, I’ve only seen this small bird a handful of times in the many years I’ve been photographing so I was very happy to catch this one perched on a lichen covered branch. These little fellas can reach speeds of up to 40mph flying flat or 60mph when diving.

Fediverse has far more levels and innovations to it. It's actually a much better investment of your time that will innovate, adapt, and outlast the walled off single corporate sites.

In the Fediverse:
1) decisions taken to boost community, and not profits, widely lead to better decisions.
2) our Fediverse circles connect across all the platforms and can outlive any platform, any developer, any instance.
3) we can hop around platforms, without losing all time investment, freeing us.
4) Fediverse devs quite often quicker, more agile & innovative than corporate controlled devs.

Friends & family, are just plugged in to corporate social & largely unaware of the wider effects. Many of them aren't ready to leave The Matrix. They don't mind their data being farmed. I have to accept that the social implications may never interest many of them. However some of them can be made curious about the fragility of their time investment when their efforts are owned by corporate sites.

There is no central architect.

There are some people on the Fediverse who contribute a lot, but there are no Emperors, no Kings. Power is distributed out & shared, and not a pyramid with rulers atop. The rest of the network can just adapt around any figure. The Fediverse can't be bought and sold.

This means my social is not at the whims of negotiating with some central figure, who is unlikely to register I even exist. If I want something different, I can move around the Fediverse to where it's happening that way, even set up my own space if I want.

There's a lot more to the Fediverse than this of course, but for people wondering if there are alternatives to Twitter in terms of getting curated and fresh info from reputable sources, that's a good and reassuring first step, to motivate them to come in here for good.
