📷 Jack went out for a minute, the first time in 6 hours. Rain.

He walked to the edge of the porch and stepped onto the grass one front foot at a time—back legs still on cement—and had a wee. Technically, the stream was half-on the porch (verboten), but I allowed it.

Wet feet are Jack's least favorite thing.

📷 New Orleans, 1986.

This is one of the first pictures I made when I picked up a camera with intention. I was chasing a guy I'd met in DC who lived in New Orleans, a young British lawyer named Paul.

Nothing came of that crush, but I made some pictures that week while he was at the office, walking the city with my camera.

Chris was a brainiac polymath in the Mission in the early 90s. We met at the 500 Club in the pool room. Our "You're in a band? I'm a photographer!" convo led to my shooting the band #Zircus for an LP cover. My shots were shit and not used. Later, Chris agreed to make portraits with me.

📷 We may be out of the direct path of the severe storm, but the clouds at 5:30 were *extra—moving and changing quickly. Here's my usual shot over the neighbor's fence, looking southeast.
