This one is weird. Nobody is fully in the frame; Franchot Tone is staring at his own floating head across the way, and is that a doorway he's peeking out from? The edge of the poster would serve the same purpose. Maybe this was supposed to be enigmatic and off-kilter or maybe the designer had 10 minutes to come up with something and did their best.

Just finished “She Said,” a great look at the pair of NYT journalists who took down Harvey Weinstein.
Well acted, but what kept me into this film was the accurate depiction of how real investigative journalism is done. It makes the term “fake news” kinda laughable when you see to what lengths these two determined women go to in order to get the story right.

Recently i was on Fast and furious 10 with friends and wtf was that xD. Give me back old Fast and furious.
I saw Plan 75 (https://m.imdb.com/title/tt19719904/) tonight.
It’s one of those films that tells much of its story through what it implies rather than what it shows. It’s dark and sinister and dystopian without ever needing to be brutal or gory. The reviews are mixed because I think people like their apocalypses to be a bit more of a spectacle but I thought it was excellent.

I must say the 1996 #film, IRMA VEP, directed by Olivier Assayas, is one of my faves. It's, in a way, a little art-house type of #cinema, and it helps to have some knowledge of cinema history (esp silent era and French New Wave) but one doesn't need it to love this film. Just such a great film. One can find it on the #CriterionChannel. I have yet to watch the HBO series version, also directed by Assayas. I hear it's good too.
Starting to use my Minox #film camera again. This is from when I last used it regularly on the late aughts (2007 or 2008).
I really love small things, so subminiature cameras are very appealing.

And that spectre hangs over every other scene afterwards. I'm guessing people's ages and counting backwards, trying to figure out how they would have been impacted by that time. All while watching very ordinary scenes of people drinking beer after work, delivering coal up flights of stairs, or talking about their upcoming wedding/move to a more rural area. #film
In particular, there's this one scene where a little old lady, very charming, comes in to the office and order fuel. And it takes a second to realise, triggered by her claim that she had "a wonderful youth" and "didn't have to do anything" and then finally that she is "a war widow for 44 years", that this is a woman that was probably a Nazi. She's too dignified and well dressed and well spoken to be anything be someone that went along with the glamour of fascism. #film
Watching "Who's Afraid of the Bogeyman?" (1989, dir. Helke Misselwitz) and it's interesting how a film that's basically about coal deliveries can hold so much political weight. You've got post-war Germany, you've got your usually-invisible working class characters, it's filmed in East Berlin so there's the whole Soviet oppression thing, it's the last year before the Berlin Wall comes down... it's a lot. #film

Ok, Fediverse. This is a tough one.
I saw a short film years ago, maybe in the early 2000s. I was explaining it to someone earlier. I have tried off and on to find it, but I have been unable, so I'm putting it to film buffs who may be familiar with it. It's called "The Boundary" with Alexander Siddig (from DS9). The director is Julius Onah.

ME/CFS also has a big impact on our way of working as a #film collective. We have to very carefully plan what we do & where we put our energy. Travelling is a lot more complicated and often not possible at all.
And we always have to plan extra time in case of a crash!
We have to run on crip time, so time has to fit itself to our capacities and not the other way around.
That's why we only managed to post this thread now and not straight after the #LiegendDemo.
